We ended our nursing home week today with Twinning Day. Staff dressed up as twins or dynamic duos. Our winners were the Scooby Doo clan however we had Matilda and Mrs. Trunchbull, Mario and Luigi, Hippy Twins, and Salt and Pepper. The smiles on the residents faces seeing our costumes and the laughs made what we do worth it even more!! Then this afternoon residents and activity staff made bouquets of flowers up for resident's rooms and for staff that were working today!! We also had walking tacos for lunch made by one of our cooks!! We appreciate what each and every one of our staff members do to make things wonderful for the residents we take care of. Thank you all and let's keep up the amazing care and team work to continue to make things the best we possibly can for the people we take care of each and every day.

This month we started Resident and Employee of the Month. Our winners for the month of May is our sweet, loving and caring Kathy Cole. Our Employee of the Month is our caring, hardworking, always there to lend a hand to her residents or coworkers Kylie Seeley. Our Activity Director made personalized boards to hang in the facility to recognize the two as well. We are so very fortunate to be able to care for Kathy and to work beside Kylie!! Congrats to you both!!

Please join us in welcoming our new Director of Nursing, Jessica Gresser!

Jessica began her nursing career in a cardiac step-down/med-surg setting, where she built a strong clinical foundation and developed a deep appreciation for patient-centered care in high-acuity environments. During her time in this role, she discovered that while she valued the fast pace and critical thinking, she was really drawn to building relationships and continuity of care—something she found more deeply in long-term care.

Her transition into long-term care started through floor nursing with North Shore, along with a travel contract that further broadened her experience. It was during this time that she truly found her passion for caring for residents over time, getting to know them and their families, and being part of their ongoing journey.

She later had the opportunity to work in hospital-at-home coordination, which gave her a wider perspective on care transitions, systems, and how we can better support patients across settings. That experience ultimately led her back to long-term care in an ADON role, where she was able to combine clinical leadership with her passion for this population.

She is incredibly grateful for the opportunity to now join the Wisconsin Rapids team as Director of Nursing. Long-term care holds a special place for her because it allows her to make a meaningful, lasting impact—not just on residents, but on families and the teams who care for them every day.

Jessica is a wife and mom, and her family is a huge part of her life. Outside of work, she enjoys reading, staying active, spending time outdoors, and being with her family. She values balance, connection, and creating a positive, supportive environment both at home and at work.

She is really looking forward to getting to know everyone and working together to continue providing excellent care and building a strong, supportive team.
