Recovery doesn’t end when treatment does—it grows through connection, community, and showing up for one another.

Join the Lake Ave Recovery alumni family for an evening of food, games, laughter, and fellowship as we reconnect with familiar faces and welcome new ones. Whether you’ve been out for years or just recently completed treatment, there’s always a place for you here.

Recovery is about community.

Recovery isn’t something most people do alone. It’s built through connection, support, and surrounding yourself with people who challenge you to grow while believing in you on the days you don’t believe in yourself.

The people you choose to walk beside and the mentors who guide you, can make all the difference in building a lasting recovery.

As Shaun says, “I wasn’t even looking for recovery.” Sometimes the journey begins when someone else sees hope in us before we can see it ourselves.

At Lake Ave Recovery, community isn’t just something we talk about, it’s something we build every day. 💙

Recovery is about so much more than abstaining from substances, it’s about rebuilding skills, confidence, and a sense of self.

🎨 In this video, our Clinical Director, Natalie Tincknell, explains why activities like origami are an important part of the therapeutic process at Lake Ave Recovery.

Origami encourages clients to slow down, remain present, and focus on one step at a time. This mindful practice strengthens concentration, patience, problem-solving, and frustration tolerance while helping reduce stress and anxiety.

Creative interventions also provide an opportunity for self-expression and accomplishment, allowing clients to reconnect with their strengths and discover healthy ways to cope with life’s challenges.

Sometimes, healing begins with something as simple as folding a piece of paper, one intentional step at a time.

Sobriety is in the air🍃

Over the weekend we celebrated another incredible milestone. Kerri, a Lake Ave alumni, was presented her 1 year sobriety coin by none other than our amazing Outreach Coordinator, Jen. We are so greatful to be able to celebrate client wins along side them!

A year of showing up. A year of choosing recovery. A year of strength, growth, and hope. As always, we are beyond proud of everyone who walks through our doors!

A structured morning sets the foundation for meaningful clinical work.

At Lake Ave Recovery, each day begins with a community welcome in our café, giving clients the opportunity to check in, review the day’s schedule, and foster a sense of connection before treatment begins.

Clients then transition into their morning programming, including:
• Clinical Process Groups
• Yoga and Mind-Body Wellness

This combination of evidence-based group therapy and holistic programming helps clients strengthen emotional awareness, develop healthy coping strategies, improve distress tolerance, and build the skills needed for long-term recovery.

Recovery is most effective when clinical care, structure, and community work together.

Last night was one that makes us all smile.

LAR Gardners clinician Chris had the honor of presenting Steph, a Lake Ave graduate, with her one year sobriety coin. One year of strength, growth, and commitment.

We are so proud of Steph and all of the hard work she has put into her journey. Stories like hers remind us why we do it and that recovery is possible!

Congratulations to Steph and all of our recent alumni- we cannot wait to see what the future holds🫶🏻

Lake Ave Recovery was honored to be part of Spectrum News’ In Focus segment on substance use and recovery.

We are grateful for the opportunity to join State Representative James O’Day, Washburn House Founder and President Tim Rassias, and our very own Co-Founder and Managing Partner Shaun Wallace in an important conversation about addiction, recovery, and the work being done in our communities every day.

A special thank you to Spectrum News for shining a light on the challenges, solutions, and hope that exist for individuals and families impacted by substance use disorder.

Recovery happens when communities come together, and we are proud to be part of that mission.
