The two pics below are both parts of our A*M process where we spin (very fast) for an extremely clean PPP and then into our filtration (not dehydration) phase to isolate the A*M molecule/remove inflammatory components.
The anti-inflammatory effect tends to last for 12-18 months; or more if arthritic changes are caught early enough. Additionally, an A*M injection tends to trigger the body's natural healing response.
Furthermore:
- Alpha-2-Macroglobulin, located in the blood, attaches to destructive enzymes and eliminates them through the body's own natural processes.
- Inflammatory cells are removed while isolating and concentrating the A*M component by over 6x (or more if requiring a smaller volume - whereby you can filter for a longer period of time).
- The naturally occuring A*M molecule is the body's own defense mechanism, but may be unable to enter the joint or disc space in high enough quantities due to its large size and complex structure. Breakdown may happen when the joint or disc space contain more destructive enzymes than the body can handle.
- Injecting additional concentrated A*M may restore homeostasis to optimize the healing environment by removing protease enzymes from the site.

A good PRP yield is free of red blood cell contamination. Red blood cells interfere with platelet activity and cause pain, inflammation and bruising.
A good PRP system is quick, uncomplicated and versatile.
A concentration of platelets injected into the site of injury may initiate tissue repair from the release of many different biological factors that are responsible for initiating the hemostatic cascade, synthesis of new connective tissues and revascularization.
The key, then, is the # of viable platelets (vs. the # of platelets).
Presenting CAREprp -
In the past it was said that CAREprp is a good system among other good systems. After recent updates (where an ideal result is created almost every time) it's safe to say that CAREprp yields a very high platelet recovery rate with the real concentration of usable platelets maximized.
A 3-minute spin follows a 23ml blood draw; with the pic below from a recent session (before positioning the buffy coat). The buffy coat is then easily and gently pushed into position for a Monocyte-Rich PRP, Leukocyte-Rich or Leukocyte-Poor.
A 60ml blood draw may not be necessary, but that option is now available if you wish. More is better, but without red blood cell contamination CAREprp already is more (in most cases).
