Every year we have themes each day of the week from western to superhero and more with lots of fun activities for our staff as a token of our appreciation! A big thank you to everyone in our nursing home who work hard each and every day to make our Veterans' lives better ♥️

This week during National Skilled Nursing Home Week, we wanted to extend our deepest gratitude to the men and women who work in our state Veteran homes, working each and every day to take care of our Veterans. As National Nurses Week draws to a close, we want to express our sincerest gratitude for all of the nurses who take care of the residents in our state Veteran homes across Arizona! Without your selflessness, hard work and kindness each and every day, our Veterans wouldn't have the wonderful care that they do. You all are amazing and thank you!!

A big thank you to our local Border Patrol agents who brought their K9 Unit to visit our Veterans and teach us more about what they do for our community! We had so much fun meeting with y'all and learning more about these furry law enforcement officers! 🐾

Today we recognize the sacrifices of military spouses who lost a loved one in the line of duty. This day honors the grieving wives and husbands who deserve our support, understanding and respect.

The Gold Star originated during WWI when service families flew flags with blue stars on them to indicate family members who were serving. If a service member died, the blue star was replaced with gold to know the price that the family had paid in the cause of freedom. Today, a Gold Star lapel buttons are awarded to surviving family members.

To our Gold Star Spouses, thank you for your sacrifices.

Governor Katie Hobbs has announced the launch of Power AZ, a program to expand access to critical utility assistance and manage the high cost of energy for working Arizona families.

Power AZ expands eligibility beyond the federal Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) income limits. Under this initiative, a family of four with an annual income of $108,000 may be eligible for bill assistance, meaning an estimated 30,000 new households whose income otherwise exceeds the LIHEAP income threshold will be considered for utility assistance through the Power AZ initiative.

Today, we honor the recipients of the United States' highest military medal for valor and highlight their courage and sacrifice. Out of the 41 million of those who served since the medal's conception in 1863, only 3,500 service members have been awarded the Medal of Honor.
