Kantana “Tana” Lee George, 56, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away on August 2, 2026. She was born on September 14, 1969.

Tana was preceded in death by her father, Jack Robinson; mother, Cheryl Larrison Robinson; her maternal and paternal grandparents; and several aunts and uncles.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Cody George; granddaughter, Briella George; several cousins, including Cyanne Huffine, Shanda Mullens, and Shauna Turner, who were by her side; and her best friend of 52 years, Michele Hauge.

Tana was a waitress by trade, a profession she enjoyed immensely. She was a very kind and giving soul who touched the lives of those around her. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Cremation has been chosen.

Today we give honor to Glen as we hold his homegoing services. Glen has worked for many years as our pre-arrangement specialist. He truly enjoyed sitting, planning and talking with each person he met with. If you have preplanned your funeral with Glen, you know he wasn’t strictly business. He loved to chat with people and get to know them.

He will be greatly missed and his impact will last. There will be many times in the future where we will think to call Glen. And he will be remembered fondly and with love. Rest In Peace. 🕊️

Carol L. Harris, 63, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2026. She was born on June 28, 1963, to Ed Singer and Florence Davis.

Carol was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Harry and Eloise Johnson; her great-grandfather, John Holbert; her uncles, Harry Johnson Jr. and Duane Johnson; her aunt, Lilly Mae Johnson; and her cousin, Tony Johnson.

She is lovingly survived by her husband, John Harris; her children, Sheron (Ann Marie) Davis, Tiffany Harris, and Summer Harris; her sisters, Lisa Davis, Melinda Rush, Donna Felix, Nicole Singer, Chelsea Singer, Nadine Singer, and Brenda Curtis; her brothers, Paul Felix, Phillip Singer, Glenn Singer, and Charles Curtis; her extended brothers, Paul “Huey” Felix and Monty Felix; her cherished grandchildren, Ashawn Davis, Cameron Davis, Avante Davis, Sheron Davis Jr., Cody Starkey Jr., Bronson Deeds, Ca’Vani White, Ke’Mauri Curtis, and Rylo Starkley; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, and friends.

Carol was the most loving and caring person, dedicating the majority of her life to her family and especially to her grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with them, whether it was enjoying sleepovers, watching movies together, or simply making memories. She also loved spending time yard sale shopping and always found joy in life's simple pleasures. Her kindness, generosity, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.

Glen Alan McFarland, 85, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away on July 30, 2026, in Grove City, Ohio.

Born on March 27, 1941, in Ritchie County, West Virginia, Glen was raised on a farm where he learned the value of hard work, perseverance, and family. Those early lessons shaped the course of his life and were evident in everything he did. Even in his later years, Glen remained active and dedicated, continuing to work two jobs—cleaning a two-story office building three days a week and selling pre-arranged funeral insurance. His strong work ethic never wavered, and he took pride in staying busy and providing for those he loved.

Throughout his life, Glen worked at DuPont and also owned and operated a neighborhood carryout, where he enjoyed serving and connecting with his community. He was known for his reliability, his steady presence, and his willingness to help others whenever he could.

Glen found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, camping, and cooking out, but above all else, he cherished time spent with his family. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by those he loved, sharing stories, laughter, and everyday moments that became lasting memories.

He will be remembered for his dedication, kindness, and unwavering commitment to his family. His quiet strength and generous spirit left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Glen is survived by his loving wife, Dianne McFarland; his daughter, Teresa (Scott) Hatzer; his sons, Scott (Brenda) McFarland and William Paul McFarland; his sister, Opal Mae Hardman; his grandchildren, William "Joey" Hatzer, Amanda Hatzer, Sarah Hatzer, Spencer McFarland, Stephanie McFarland, Bobby Malone, and Brock Malone; multiple great-grandchildren; and many nephews and nieces. Glen is also survived by Dianne’s daughters, Stephanie (Jason), Geordis (Bobby) and son, Maecco; grandchildren, Jasmine, Shaquanda, Paris, Alexia, Jaionna, Quentin, Tyquan and Isaiah; and a beloved family friend, Harry Frush.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Melissa "Missy" Bedsoe; his son, Glen A. McFarland II; his parents, William "Mack" and Ora McFarland; his sister, Dorothea Fleak; and his granddaughters, Samantha McFarland and Kimberly Hatzer. Glen’s legacy of hard work, love for his family, and generous heart will live on in all who were fortunate enough to know him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.

George E. Guy, 69, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving wife, children, and grandchildren.

George was born on August 28, 1956, in Zanesville, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward P. Guy and Clara (Goins) Guy; his nephew, Brooks Guy; his father-in-law, Robert L. Norris; his mother-in-law, Esther M. Norris; his sister-in-law, Marie Mayle; and his brother-in-law, William “Butch” Norris.

George leaves behind the love of his life and devoted wife of 49 years, Peggy N. Guy. He is also survived by his children, Joshua (Mackenzie) Guy and Erica Guy-Evans; his five beloved grandchildren, Donovan (Tabby) Guy, Cameron Guy, Ryan Guy, Kanye Evans, and Karcyn Evans; and his great-granddaughter, Kahlaia Guy.

He is also survived by his brother, Donald Guy of Hagerstown, Maryland; his sisters, Carol (Thomas) Murphy of Kissimmee, Florida, Catherine (Terry) McLarney of Glenwood, Maryland, and Cynthia Guy of Laurel, Maryland; his brothers-in-law, Roger (Kaci) Norris, Robert L. Norris Jr., and Aaron (Tracey) Norris; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

George graduated from Wheaton High School in Silver Spring, Maryland. He proudly served in law enforcement for 20 years before fulfilling his dream of owning his own business. He founded GEG Cleaning, a commercial cleaning company, where he worked alongside his grandsons until his retirement.

A devoted sports fan, George cheered faithfully for the Cleveland Browns and The Ohio State Buckeyes. However, nothing compared to his love and unwavering support for the Zanesville Blue Devils. He was a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) and the Zanesville Esquire Club for many years.

Above all else, George’s greatest joy in life was his family. He cherished every opportunity to watch his children and grandchildren grow, attend their events, celebrate their accomplishments, and simply spend time together. Anyone who knew George knew that being a father and grandfather wasn't just a role—it was his greatest purpose. Rarely was he seen without one of his grandchildren by his side, and the love he had for them was evident in every moment they shared.

George will be remembered for his strength, unwavering dedication to his family, quiet generosity, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the family he cherished, the lives he touched, and the countless memories that will forever be held close by those who loved him.

He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate George’s life on Monday, August 3, 2026. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Burrell’s Funeral Service, followed by a repast from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at the Blockhouse Event Center on State Street in Zanesville, Ohio. Phillip Newman, 85, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on July 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.

Born in 1941 in Zanesville, Ohio, Phillip was the son of Sarah Margaret Newman and Delbert Franklin Newman, Sr. A lifelong resident of Zanesville, he dedicated his life to serving his community, strengthening civic organizations, mentoring others, and caring for his family.

After graduating from Zanesville High School, Phillip began his career with Line Material Company. He later married the love of his life, Beverly Brown. He went on to serve as a police officer with the Zanesville Police Department before continuing his career with the Ohio Youth Commission and later as manager of Harts Stores. Phil eventually joined the Ohio Department of Transportation, where he advanced to the position of County Manager. Following a distinguished career in public service, he retired in 2006.

A gifted athlete and lifelong baseball enthusiast, Phil played semi-professional baseball with the Community Center, the Zanesville Pioneers, the Indianapolis Clowns, and numerous local softball teams. His love of the game, sportsmanship, and years of dedication earned him induction into the Muskingum County Old-Timers Baseball Hall of Fame.

Phil devoted countless hours to improving the Zanesville community. He was recognized by the Zanesville Civic League for acquiring properties and leading the fundraising efforts that made possible the construction of the new Zanesville Community Center. His dedication to serving others also earned him an award from the United States Postmaster for outstanding community service.

His commitment to public service extended well beyond his professional career. Phillip served on the Zanesville City Board of Education and was a past president of both the Zanesville Esquires and the Zanesville Civic League. He also served on the Executive Board of the Muskingum County Chapter of the NAACP and was an active supporter of numerous civic and youth programs throughout Muskingum County.

Above all, Phillip was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He loved spending time with his family, cheering on his children and grandchildren, sharing stories from his years in baseball and public service, and lending a helping hand whenever someone was in need. His kindness, leadership, generosity, and sense of humor left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.

Phillip is survived by his beloved wife, Beverly Newman; his children, Debbie Newman, Beverly Kay Thomas, Karl Newman (Melanie), and Jennifer Newman (Robert Davis); his grandchildren, Wesley Newman, Ashlee Thomas, Tasia Dickinson, Tyler Dickinson, William Newman, Kai Newman, and Tate Newman; several great-grandchildren; his brother, Paul Newman; special family friend, Walter Atkins; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members, lifelong friends, and members of the community he faithfully served.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sarah Margaret Newman and Delbert Franklin Newman, Sr.; his beloved daughter, Cheryl Newman; his brothers, Delbert Newman, Jr., Robert Newman, and Ivan Newman; and his sister, Dorothy Wright.

Family and friends will be received on Friday July 31, 2026, from 10 am to 12 pm at Greater Apostolic Church Christ. Funeral services celebrating Phillip's life will start at 12 pm with Elder Brown and Bishop Gaiters officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Zanesville.

Kimberly LaGrange, 67, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving daughters and family.

Kimberly was born on April 30, 1959, to the late Jackie and Max Bauer. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Kathy; and her brothers, Max and Fred.

She leaves behind her beloved daughters, who will forever carry on her memory: Marcie LaGrange, Keri (Don) LaGrange, Katie Stoneburner, and Kristin. Kimberly was a proud grandmother to eleven grandchildren: Stacia (Dustin), Robert, Tyler, Jaccob, Ceondra, Keaton, Kyle, Sydney, Winston, Kourtni, and Damien. She was also blessed with six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought immense joy to her life.

Kimberly is also survived by her siblings, Katrina D. (Frank), Sherry B., William B. (Trina), and Cindy B., along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who will cherish her memory.

She shared a special bond with her beloved feline companion, Demon Kitty, who brought her comfort and companionship.

Kimberly will always be remembered for the love she had for her family and the memories she created with those closest to her. Though she will be deeply missed, her family finds comfort in knowing she is finally at peace, forever taking the nap she so greatly deserved.

David "Pete" Ray Starks, 93, of Zanesville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on July 21, 2026. He was born on May 10, 1933, to the late Dewey and Susan Starks.

David is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Ann Starks; his children, Christine, David, June, and Susan; his sister, June Taylor; and numerous other family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

David was a faithful member of New Covenant Church and a proud member of the Only Ones Motorcycle Club. He enjoyed the fellowship of his church family and the lifelong friendships he made through the motorcycle community. Most importantly he enjoyed spending time with his family and loved ones.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to Genesis Hospice for the compassionate and exceptional care they provided during David's final days.

Laura Louise McWhorter, 54, of Newark, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home on July 17, 2026. She was born on September 11, 1971, to John McWhorter Sr. and Dorothy McWhorter.

Laura was preceded in death by her parents; her dad, Jim McWhorter; her significant other; her beloved son, Anthony Greeley; her brother, John "Muck" McWhorter Jr.; nephews, James, Blade, Steven, Jackson, and Terry; and her niece, Christina.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children, Jackiee "Jack" (Jason) Glass and Travis Greeley; her cherished grandchildren, Cheyanne, Robert, and Emma-Jo, along with several adopted grandbabies whom she loved as her own. She is also survived by her siblings, Oscar McWhorter, Christina Kirk, Terry McWhorter, Dorothy "Dork" (Jim Bob) Tolbert, and Willie McWhorter; her chosen sisters, Elizabeth (Shawn) Smith and Lillian Rimel Kramer; several nieces and nephews; and many other close friends and family members.

Laura's grandchildren were the light of her life and truly her greatest joy. She enjoyed going to work, loved her soda pop, and treasured every moment spent with her family. Above all else, Laura's love for those closest to her was unwavering. She will be remembered for her caring heart and will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.
