Once all the craziness of back to school is over, plan a fun-filled day with the family at Frederick Living's Celebrate 130! event on Saturday, September 19 from 10 am to 2 pm.

There's lots for the kids to enjoy with an animal petting area from Quiver Farm and a bounce house from Double Bounce Rentals. Plenty of food from our outdoor grill area, Pennsylvania German treats inside, a kid's craft area, raffle baskets and a concert by the Quakertown Band will keep you busy and enjoying the community.

Has a hot air balloon ride been your bucket list?
Imagine the thrill of a hot air balloon ride - but with the additional safety net of being tethered to the ground.

Recently, several Garden Spot Communities residents enjoyed a full scale balloon ride, gliding peacefully through Lancaster County in the early morning. But YOU can experience the view of the Frederick Living campus with a lift into the sky while remaining tethered to the ground during our Celebrate 130! event on September 19th from 10 am to 2 pm.

The balloon will be on campus for the celebration. Rides will take place weather permitting.

Organizations are known by their names and sometimes over the course of a 130-year history, titles shift. And although our name has changed a few times along with the logo, our mission has remained constant.

Since its founding, Frederick Living has been led by principles that were rooted in Mennonite heritage and faith. Today, our guiding principles follow in that tradition and are simply stated as "Be Kind. Do Good. Show Love."

Frederick Living residents and team members recently battled it out during Frederick Feud, our own version of the popular TV game show Family Feud. The community was surveyed on a variety of topics and the top answers were on the board.

Teams played for their favorite charities with donations being taken at the door. The winning teams raised $430 for the Benevolent Care fund and $459 for the .

In between rounds, several team members provided entertainment in song and dance. Overall - a fantastic evening of fun, jokes, laughter and enjoying time in community.

It was a beautiful morning as residents enjoyed Breakfast on the Patio. Made to order eggs, hash browns, scrapple/sausage, grilled cinnamon rolls, pancakes and veggie omelets never tasted so good!

Frederick Living no longer has a farm on-site, but during our Celebrate 130! festival you can see lots of farm animals thanks to Quiver Farms of Pennsburg. The traveling farm will allow you to pet and feed a variety of animals.

Celebrate 130! takes place on September 19, 2026 from 10 am to 2 pm. There are lots of other family friendly activities including kids' crafts, a bounce house, PA German themed desserts, food, and our mini-golf course. Plan to join us and bring the family!

American horticulturalist Luther Burbank once said, "Flowers always make people better, happier, and more helpful; they are sunshine, food, and medicine for the soul."
That is exactly why Frederick Living residents grow flowers in the community garden - to share with others.

Resident Diana Channer and her team manages a bed of colorful blooms, cut them and then arrange small bouquets for distribution to Cedarwood Nursing Center with the help of Lavon Kratzer, Cedarwood Life Enrichment Lead. What a beautiful way to bring joy to others!

Working and having fun in community is all in a day's work at Frederick Living. Team members recently enjoyed a summer picnic complete with great food, an ice cream sundae bar and a pie contest.

Three judges sampled a dozen pies and everyone else happily joined in the eating. Thank you to Garden Spot Communities leadership team members who came to serve and join in the festivities.
