𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙉𝙪𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧𝙨 𝙏𝙚𝙡𝙡 𝙖 𝙎𝙩𝙤𝙧𝙮. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙋𝙚𝙤𝙥𝙡𝙚 𝙈𝙖𝙩𝙩𝙚𝙧 𝙈𝙤𝙨𝙩.

Between 1 January and 30 June 2026, hundreds of individuals and families turned to MyRehab for help in overcoming addiction.

Our admission data reveals an important reality:

🥃 40.9% of admissions were for alcohol-related disorders, making alcohol the leading substance people sought treatment for.

This was followed by:

• Multiple drug use – 28.0%
• Cannabis – 10.8%
• Stimulants – 9.7%
• Sedatives – 4.3%
• Co***ne – 3.8%
• Opioids – 2.2%
• Hallucinogens – 0.5%

While these figures provide valuable insight into the types of addiction we treat, they represent far more than percentages.

They represent mothers and fathers.
Sons and daughters.
Professionals, students, business owners, and friends.

People who reached a point where they made one of the most courageous decisions of their lives—to ask for help.

Men's Mental Health Month is a reminder that addiction is often a symptom of deeper struggles, not the starting point.

For many men, substance use begins as a way to stay afloat. A way to cope with anxiety, trauma, stress, depression, loneliness, or emotional pain that may have gone unrecognised for years.

At first, it can feel like relief. A way to manage overwhelming emotions, escape difficult thoughts, or simply make it through another day.

But what helps someone survive can eventually start pulling them under.

That's why addiction and mental health cannot always be treated separately. Behind many addictions are underlying mental health struggles that deserve the same attention, support, and care.

This Men's Mental Health Month, we encourage men to know that seeking help is not a sign of weakness. Reaching out for support can be one of the most important steps toward recovery, healing, and reclaiming your wellbeing.

At MyRehab Dual Diagnosis Addiction Centres, we provide structured MDT reports to referring and treating mental healthcare professionals, where the patient has given informed consent.

These reports are designed to give you a clear, clinically useful picture of the patient’s presentation, progress, risks, diagnostic impressions, medication profile and discharge planning needs.
