It's not normal to have to plan your month around your period đŸ©ž

So many of us grow up thinking a heavy period is simply our period, but heavy bleeding is often a sign of something specific going on and it's almost always worth understanding rather than working around.

If your flow has changed lately, start simple. Track how many days you bleed and how often you're changing protection. That's often the most useful information you can bring to a consult, so that you and your doctor can work together to figure out why you're bleeding heavily and how to treat it.

Note: This is general education, not a diagnosis. If something feels off with your cycle, it's worth getting checked properly, since every body tells a different story.

When you’re facing a whole bunch of symptoms that seem unrelated, it can feel pretty overwhelming. For a long time it felt like my body was betraying me, and one symptom appeared after another.

It wasn’t until I spoke to my homeopath about the symptoms I was experiencing, and she put the pieces of the puzzles together for me - I wasn’t just lazy or too stressed or doing everything wrong. I was struggling with PMOS (formerly called PCOS). After that diagnosis, my treatment structure changed and I finally started to feel better.

This is my personal experience and if a few of these symptoms sound familiar, it doesn’t mean you have PMOS. It just means that it may be worth asking for bloodwork so that you can get the full picture 💚

To my fellow PMOS ladies, can you relate? 💬

There’s nothing quite like an acne breakout to make you reach for any serum or cleanser that might help đŸ€•
Sometimes, treating acne topically can absolutely help
but sometimes the cause of the acne is far deeper than skin level.

In my practice, when a patient says that they’re struggling with their skin, I always look at their gut health. Gut issues so often show up as skin issues, so treating the gut deals with the skin.

Please note that this is not a diagnosis or personalised care - if your skin has been bothering you for a whole, please seek advice from your healthcare provider.

Is this something you’re guilty of?

Somewhere along the line, we were taught that it was normal to push through the exhaustion, the headaches, the poor sleep and the short temper until illness knocks us flat and we say: “I guess my body needed a break.”

The reality is that your body was asking for a break long before that, and a collapse in your health was the only way you’d listen.

You don’t have to earn rest. It’s not something that you achieve once you’ve worked yourself to the bone. It’s something that should be included in your regular routine, to prevent that collapse 💚

This National Women's Day, I feel like this deserves a special mention 🔬
If your health has ever felt like guesswork, that's not on you. The research is still catching up, and it's taken its time getting here.

So don't accept vague answers. Ask questions, and keep asking until something actually makes sense. You know your body, so trust that.

One thing that helps me cope with anxiety & overwhelm: Meal prepping (as cliché as that may sound).

I spend my whole day making decisions, so by the time I get home, deciding what to make for dinner, and what to have for breakfast and lunch the next day, can feel completely overwhelming.

So I meal prep.

Do I enjoy spending my Sunday afternoon in the kitchen? Definitely not 😅 It usually takes some convincing to get myself started, but I’m always grateful that I did.

Having food ready takes away so much decision fatigue. It makes busy weekdays feel less overwhelming, and I don’t end up feeling guilty because I’ve been too exhausted to put together a balanced meal.

I don’t get it right every week, and that’s okay.

I also didn’t start by prepping every meal. I began with dinners, then added lunches once that felt easy, and only later started prepping breakfasts too. Trying to do everything at once is usually the fastest way to give up.

It’s certainly not a cure for overwhelm, but taking a little of the mental load off each day has made a bigger difference than I expected. Sometimes the smallest changes are the ones that stick the most đŸ„—

If weight loss has felt harder than it should, it might not be about trying harder. 🧬

Your genes influence how your body absorbs fat, responds to exercise, and manages blood sugar. Two people can follow the same plan and get completely different results - and that difference is often biological, not motivational.

Nutrigenomic testing doesn't give you a magic answer, but it does give you and your practitioner a much better starting point with less guesswork.

Save this if you've ever felt like your body has its own rulebook. 📌

If your cycle is irregular or ovulation feels unpredictable, iron is worth paying attention to đŸ©ž

Research is pointing to a real link. The Nurses’ Health Study II followed over 18,500 women for 8 years and found that those who supplemented with iron had a 40% lower risk of ovulatory infertility. A 2025 study in Acta Obstetricia et Gynecologica Scandinavica found that when iron deficiency was treated in women with a history of infertility, conception rates improved and miscarriage rates dropped.

The evidence isn’t conclusive yet, but it’s consistent enough to take seriously.

One thing that often gets missed: you can have low iron stores and still show a normal haemoglobin on a standard blood test. Ferritin (stored iron) is the more useful marker, and it’s worth asking for specifically.

❗Please don’t supplement without checking your levels first. Too much iron can be just as problematic as too little, and iron overload has real health consequences.

For educational purposes only. Not medical advice or a diagnosis. Always work with a healthcare provider before starting any supplementation
