IVF is one of the most well-known fertility treatments, but it isn't the right starting point for everyone.

Whether it's the right pathway for you depends on your diagnosis, your history, and where you are in your journey.

For some, IVF is the most effective option from the outset. For others, less invasive treatments may be the better first step.

The only way to know is through a proper assessment. At Cape Fertility, we look at your full picture before recommending anything, because the right treatment is the one that's right for you.

Book a consultation and find out where your journey should begin.

Most people assume the fallopian tube connects directly to the o***y. It doesn't.

There is actually a small gap between the two. When an egg is released at ovulation, it doesn't travel through a sealed passage. It has to be swept up by the fimbriae, delicate finger-like projections at the end of the tube, which catch the egg and guide it inward.

It's a remarkably precise process. And when it works, it's one of the quiet miracles of the human body.

When it doesn't, it can be one of the reasons conception becomes difficult.

Understanding your anatomy is the first step to understanding your fertility.

The fertility journey is rarely simple.

The injections, the waiting, the hope, the uncertainty. It asks a lot of you, physically and emotionally.

But so many Cape Fertility patients who once sat where you are now are today holding their babies.

It's worth it. And you don't have to walk the road alone.

We're here every step of the way.

It is a lot more than one single moment. Here is the journey:

🀍 Ovarian stimulation: medication to encourage your ovaries to produce multiple eggs
🀍 Egg retrieval: a short procedure to collect those eggs
🀍 Fertilisation: eggs and s***m are combined in the lab
🀍 Embryo development: embryos are monitored over several days
🀍 Embryo transfer: the best embryo is transferred into the uterus
🀍 The two week wait: and then, you hope.

Every cycle is different. Every body is different. But you do not have to figure it out alone.

Did you know?

The egg released at ovulation today actually started developing 3 months ago.

That means what you eat, how you sleep, how you move, and how you manage stress right now is already shaping your future egg quality.

There are no quick fixes here. But small, consistent choices made today can make a real difference months from now.

Your fertility journey is already happening, even when you cannot see it.

Book your consultation with Cape Fertility today.

The strongest women become the strongest mothers before their children are even conceived.

Every appointment attended. Every injection given. Every hard day pushed through.

That strength does not begin at birth. It begins long before, in the quiet moments of hope, the hard moments of doubt, and the decision to keep going anyway.

To every woman on this journey, you are already doing the most powerful thing you have ever done.

Cape Fertility is honoured to walk alongside you.

Egg development does not begin at ovulation. It unfolds over approximately 90 days before an egg is released.

During this time, the follicle and its egg are actively maturing, responding to hormonal signals and the internal environment of the body.

This means that nutrition, sleep quality, stress levels, and metabolic health today are directly influencing the egg that will ovulate three months from now.

Fertility is not just about timing in*******se or treatment cycles. It is about preparing the biology in advance.

At Cape Fertility, we factor this timeline into every plan, ensuring that interventions align with how the o***y actually functions.

Book a consultation with Cape Fertility to build a targeted, time-aware strategy that supports egg quality before it matters most.

Behind every composed conversation and every β€œwe’re fine”
there is often something much quieter.

A constant calculation.
A held breath each month.
A heart that wants to be heard without having to explain everything.

Trying to conceive can look calm on the outside while carrying a very different reality underneath.

At Cape Fertility, we recognise that what is not said is often just as important as what is. Every consultation is built to give space for both the clinical detail and the emotional weight that comes with it.

If you are carrying more than you are saying, book a consultation with Cape Fertility and step into a space where you are fully heard.

At the moment of fertilisation, thousands of s***m may reach the egg. But only one is allowed to enter.

As soon as a single s***m successfully penetrates the egg, the egg triggers a rapid protective response known as the cortical reaction. This process changes the outer layer of the egg, making it impenetrable to any additional s***m.

This mechanism is critical. If more than one s***m were to fertilise the egg, the resulting embryo would have an abnormal number of chromosomes and would not develop properly.

Fertilisation is not just about access. It is about precision, timing, and tightly controlled biological safeguards.

At Cape Fertility, understanding these microscopic processes helps guide how we support fertilisation in both natural and assisted conception.

Book a consultation with Cape Fertility to explore the science behind your fertility and what it means for your next step.
