🌸 Happy Women’s Day to all the incredible women in our lives! 🌸

Today, we celebrate the women who nurture, inspire, lead, support, protect, create and uplift others — often while carrying so much of their own.

To the amazing women on our team, thank you for the patience, love, strength and compassion you pour into every child and family you serve. You nurture growth, build futures and change lives every day. Your dedication makes a difference, even in the moments when you may not see the impact of your work.

And to every woman reading this: we celebrate you too.
Your journey. Your courage. Your resilience. Your dreams. Your voice. Your strength.

May you never forget that you are enough, that your contribution matters, and that the world is better because you are in it.

Today, we honour the women who came before us, celebrate the women walking beside us, and encourage the girls who will come after us.💐❤️

Happy Women’s Day! 🌷✨

This week, our Shahumna Centre Catering & Hospitality students recently combined the learning concepts of "mise en place" and the food groups to prepare a delicious, balanced meal while developing valuable workplace skills.

Working as a team, students prepared seasoned grilled chicken, crispy masala potatoes, a fresh seasonal salad and freshly baked buns. Each component was supported by a visual, step-by-step recipe, while a visual "mise en place" worksheet helped students organise their ingredients, utensils and equipment before cooking.

The structured activity encouraged teamwork and confidence in the kitchen, while reinforcing the importance of planning, organisation and nutrition.

We are incredibly proud of how well our students worked together and the outstanding meal they created.

Resh Naidoo is an award-winning Occupational Therapist, entrepreneur, professional makeup artist, founder of Made You Look S.A., television personality, digital content creator, brand collaborator, public speaker, and co-host of The Double Dose Podcast. As one half of the well-known Naidoo twins, she has built a dynamic career spanning healthcare, business, media, and entrepreneurship, using every platform to educate, inspire, and empower others.

With over 26 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist, Resh is passionate about supporting children with diverse learning needs & physical disabilities, always advocating for inclusive education, and empowering families through early intervention and education.

Together with her twin sister, Losh Naidoo, she co-hosts The Double Dose Podcast, where they explore conversations around culture, family, business, relationships, and personal growth.

Proud of her Indian heritage and equally proud to be South African, Resh is passionate about encouraging South African Indian women to celebrate their culture while confidently pursuing their ambitions and embracing opportunities without limitation.

Above all, Resh is a devoted mother, community leader, and advocate for women’s empowerment, believing that true success lies not only in personal achievement but in creating opportunities, uplifting others, and leaving a meaningful legacy.

Losh Naidoo is an occupational therapist, entrepreneur, podcast host, digital creator, makeup artist and fashion designer. Many South Africans know her from The Mommy Club: Sugar & Spice, but at the heart of everything she does is a passion for empowering others, especially women, and showing that you don’t have to be defined by just one role. She is a proud South African Indian, a mother to triplet daughters, and believes in living with purpose, embracing every opportunity, and making a meaningful impact wherever she goes.

Learning through play!🐊🦎🦖
Our learners at the Early Learning Intervention Centre are exploring this week's Theme Board. The different sensory textures is important for self regulation. They are developing communication, fine motor skills, and problem solving - proving that learning happens through play!

Contact [email protected] for more information about admissions to our school.

A big *THANK YOU* to the wonderful Cathy Kinnear who donated balloons to the Early Learning Intervention Centre learners! 🎈

Our learners had SO much fun playing with them - throwing, kicking, laughing and just being kids 💛
*It brought so much joy to our playground today!*

✨ Meet Our MC & Special Performer – Thembeka Mnguni! ✨

Action in Autism is thrilled to announce that the incredibly talented Thembeka Mnguni will be our Master of Ceremonies and special guest performer at our Women's High Tea fundraiser – Bridgerton Under South African Skies.

A gifted vocalist, Thembeka is more than just an exceptional performer. She is a devoted mother of an Autistic son, from whom she draws much of her inspiration and strength. Her journey reflects resilience, purpose and the courage to embrace every opportunity.

Before pursuing music full-time, Thembeka worked as a recruitment specialist in the corporate world. She has since captivated audiences across South Africa and internationally, touring in Pieter Toerien's productions of Grease and High School Musical, and earning a Naledi Award nomination for Best Newcomer. Many will also remember her inspiring performances on The Voice SA.

Through her music, Thembeka proudly represents women who have been afraid to take a chance on themselves, encouraging them to step into their power with confidence.

Join us for an afternoon of elegance, inspiration and unforgettable entertainment as we celebrate the remarkable women in our lives while raising funds to support our work with autistic individuals and their families.
