hey dreamers,

this is something i never wanted to share because for the longest time, i was embarrassed.

for the past 6 years, i’ve been struggling with folliculitis and alopecia. there were days my scalp would bleed constantly, i couldn’t wear white t-shirts, i hid behind durags and caps, and i completely lost confidence in myself.

when i was living overseas, things became worse. after moving to the usa, my condition kept getting more painful and eventually i had to come back home to south africa because my body was struggling.

i’ll never forget my 14-hour flight home. my scalp started bleeding during the flight because of the pressure, and by the time i landed, my face, neck, and scalp were swollen and inflamed. i cried for days.

there were nights i couldn’t sleep because of the pain.

but everything slowly started changing when my twin sister opened

through her treatments, support, patience, products, and consistency, i finally started experiencing real healing. my face improved, my scalp started healing, and little by little my confidence started coming back.

i’m still healing and still learning to love myself through every stage of the process, but today i can finally say i see progress.

to anybody silently struggling with their skin, scalp, hair loss, confidence, or mental health — please don’t give up on yourself.
