Why early diagnosis matters 👣

Small symptoms today can become bigger problems tomorrow.

With femoral neuropathy, untreated nerve damage can lead to:
• Increased weakness
• Muscle wasting
• Reduced mobility
• Higher risk of falls

The good news? Early assessment can catch the problem before it affects your quality of life.

If you’re experiencing tingling, weakness, or trouble walking, don’t wait.

NN Neurophysiologists are here to help.

YOUR FEMORAL NERVE: THE POWER BEHIND EVERY STEP 👣

This one small nerve does a BIG job.

Every time you:
âś“ Stand up from a chair
âś“ Climb stairs
âś“ Straighten your knee
âś“ Walk with balance
..your femoral nerve is working behind the scenes.

It controls the muscles at the front of your thigh and gives sensation to your thigh + part of your lower leg.

When it's damaged you might feel:
- Weakness in the leg
- Numbness or pain in the thigh
- Knee giving way unexpectedly
- Difficulty with simple movements

Healthy nerves keep you moving. Early recognition makes all the difference.

If you’re experiencing these symptoms, don’t wait. Get checked.

GUILLAIN-BARRÉ SYNDROME: MYTHS VS FACTS ❌✅

Misinformation can delay treatment. And with GBS, early diagnosis saves lives.

Let's clear up the confusion:

❌ Myth: GBS only affects older adults
âś… Fact: GBS can affect people of ANY age, including children

❌ Myth: GBS is contagious
âś… Fact: GBS cannot be passed from person to person

❌ Myth: Muscle weakness will go away on its own
âś… Fact: Progressive weakness should always be assessed by a professional

❌ Myth: Recovery happens in a few days
âś… Fact: Recovery often takes weeks or months

Understanding the facts helps with early recognition and better recovery outcomes.

If you or someone you know has sudden weakness, tingling, or balance issues, seek medical attention.

Could these symptoms be Guillain-Barré Syndrome?

GBS often starts with mild tingling or weakness and can progress over days or weeks. The key is early diagnosis — it leads to better treatment and recovery.

Watch for:
âś“ Tingling or numbness in hands/feet
âś“ Difficulty walking or climbing stairs
âś“ Loss of balance or coordination
âś“ In severe cases: difficulty swallowing or breathing

If you or a loved one notice these signs, don’t wait. Early care makes a difference.

Healthy nerves = Healthy movement 🧠

How does Guillain-Barré Syndrome affect the nervous system?

In GBS, the immune system damages the protective covering (myelin) around your peripheral nerves. These nerves carry messages between your brain, spinal cord, muscles, and skin.

When that covering is damaged, signals slow down — or stop.

This can lead to:
âś“ Muscle weakness
âś“ Tingling and numbness
âś“ Difficulty walking & poor balance
âś“ Loss of reflexes
âś“ Difficulty swallowing or breathing in severe cases

The earlier GBS is diagnosed and managed, the better the outcome. Don’t ignore new weakness or tingling.

Why does Guillain-Barré Syndrome happen? 🧠

GBS occurs when the immune system mistakenly attacks the protective covering of the peripheral nerves. This damages the nerves and can slow or block signals that control movement and sensation.

GBS often develops after:
âś“ A viral infection
âś“ A bacterial infection
âś“ Surgery
âś“ Other illnesses

The good news: With early diagnosis, treatment, and rehab, most people recover.

If you notice sudden weakness, tingling, or loss of sensation — don’t ignore it. Early care makes a difference.

What is Guillain-Barré Syndrome (GBS)? 🧠

GBS is a rare autoimmune neurological disorder where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the peripheral nerves.

These nerves help carry messages between your brain, spinal cord, and the rest of your body — for movement, sensation, and everyday function.

When damaged, this communication is disrupted. GBS usually develops rapidly and needs prompt medical attention.

The good news: With early diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation, most people do improve.

Knowledge is power. If you notice unusual weakness, tingling, or loss of sensation, speak to a professional.

After a head injury, your body might be trying to tell you something.

Listen to it. đź’š
If you’re dealing with persistent headaches, dizziness, memory trouble, balance issues, or tingling — don’t brush it off.

A neurophysiological assessment can help understand what’s going on and guide your recovery.

You don’t have to go through it alone.
