🌱 July at Rooted | Monthly Recap

July was a busy month at Rooted, filled with meaningful work, connection, learning, and plenty happening behind the scenes!

✨ We facilitated a number of group work sessions, creating spaces for children to connect, learn and grow together.

🏫 We were grateful to be involved in community and school holiday projects, continuing our commitment to reaching children and families beyond the therapy room.

🤝 Our team also made time for group supervision — an important part of supporting one another, reflecting on our practice, and continuing to grow as professionals.

📸 And, of course, we gave our team photos a much-needed update as we get ready for an exciting website update! We can’t wait to share more of that with you soon.

As we’re halfway through another busy month, we’re feeling grateful for the work we get to do, the families and organisations who continue to trust us, and our wonderful Rooted team. 💚

Looking back at these last 6 months of 2026, we’re filled with gratitude for every child, family, and caregiver who has entrusted us with their journey. 🌳

Whether through our therapy services, assessments, community projects, or partnerships, it has been a privilege to walk alongside so many families during some of life’s most challenging moments.

To our referral partners, schools, organisations, professionals, and supporters—thank you for believing in Rooted and for trusting us to be part of the care and support you provide. 🌱

At Rooted, we believe that supporting children and families extends far beyond the walls of our therapy rooms. 🏡

This holiday, our team had the privilege of spending time at a community holiday programme, connecting with children, sharing moments of joy, and contributing to creating safe, enriching experiences during the school break. 💚

We are incredibly proud of our team for bringing their passion, energy, and dedication wherever they go. 🌳

🌱 Did you know that we have a social work internship programme at Rooted? 🤓

Not only does this year long programme offer newly qualified social workers with a supportive environment where they can develop their skills, receive mentorship, and grow as professionals, but as part of the programme our intern also has access to year long specialised training through FACT Training & Professional Development

At the same time, the programme allows us to extend our impact in the community by offering services to children and families who might otherwise not be able to access the support they need.🌳

By investing in the next generation of social workers, we’re creating greater access to quality therapeutic services for those who need it most. 🌳ATTSA

Today we celebrate International Day of Play! 🌈

At Rooted, play isn’t just something we use — it’s the very heart of how we help children heal, grow, and connect. 🌱

Children don’t always have the words to tell us what’s going on inside. Through play, they show us their feelings, fears, hopes, and experiences.

In a safe and nurturing space, play becomes their language, their story, and their way of making sense of the world.💚

We ended off last week with another Group Supervision morning at Rooted 🌱

Group supervision provides a valuable space for reflection, support, shared learning, and professional growth. By bringing practitioners together to discuss challenges, explore different perspectives, and strengthen practice skills, group supervision helps ensure that we remain effective, ethical, and resilient in our work. 💚

Investing time into supervision = investing in better outcomes for children, families, and communities. 🌱

This week, we want to make it more practical by discussing some common responses to reporting vs what the law actually says ⚖️

As mental health professionals, educators and even parents, knowing what the law says is essential to protecting children effectively and promptly 💚💪🏻 Here’s some common things we have heard firsthand in practice, and how you can respond to them.
