What a beautiful PRIDE Day in Mnambithi!

Uthukela Pride happened!

The day began with a Pride March through the community, bringing visibility to LGBTQIA+ rights and promoting inclusion, dignity, and equality.

The march was followed by a formal programme featuring messages of support, community dialogue, and reflections on the importance of creating safe and inclusive spaces for all.

Supported by Aurum POP INN Programme, Mpilonhle (A good life) , the Department of Social Development, the Department of Health, and Alfred Duma Local Municipality the event demonstrated the power of partnership in advancing human rights, improving access to services, and strengthening community acceptance.

Together, we continue to build communities where everyone can live openly, safely, and with pride.

The big march happened on Saturday as part of eThekwini Pride 2026 in Durban bringing to a close a powerful week of advocacy, dialogue, visibility, and celebration under the theme "Beyond Waves, Pride in Action."

The march was joined by Deputy Minister Steve Letsike, alongside LGBTQI+ community members, families, allies, and partners standing together for equality, dignity, and inclusion.

From the streets of Durban, one message rang loud and clear: Pride is not just a celebration ,it is action.

The Aurum Institute POP INN joined communities, partners, and stakeholders at the official launch of the national rollout of Lenacapavir (LEN) at Lilian Ngoyi Stadium.

This groundbreaking twice-yearly injectable HIV prevention option marks a significant milestone in South Africa's ongoing efforts to reduce new HIV infections and expand access to innovative prevention choices.

For key populations in South Africa ,including gay, bis*xual and other men who have s*x with men, transgender people, people who use drugs, and other vulnerable communities, Lenacapavir represents an important additional prevention option.

With only two injections per year, it has the potential to reduce barriers associated with daily pill-taking, support privacy and convenience, improve adherence, and expand access to effective HIV prevention.

As South Africa rolls out this innovation, we remain committed to community engagement, demand creation, and ensuring that no one is left behind.

Together, we continue to advance HIV prevention, empower communities, and support a future free from HIV.

Knowledge is Power! ⚖️

Mpilonhle recently hosted a Legal Literacy & Know Your Rights session in uMnambithi, focused on Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR).

The session equipped community members with important information about their rights, access to healthcare services, bodily autonomy, and the legal protections available to them. It also created a safe space for open dialogue, learning, and empowerment.

By strengthening legal awareness, we continue to build informed and empowered communities. 💙

📍 Today we are at Esgodini Clinic continuing our service transition journey towards sustainable health programmes and stronger community healthcare systems.

Yesterday we were in Pietermaritzburg together with the KwaZulu-Natal Department of Health, TB HIV Care, and peer support from Uthingo Network, including mobile clinic services for the community.

Bringing healthcare closer, strengthening linkage to care, and building sustainable services for all.
