Ndola Teaching Hospital Pathology Unit Successfully Maintains SADCAS Accreditation for Another Five-Year Cycle

Ndola Teaching Hospital (NTH) has once again reaffirmed its commitment to quality healthcare after its Pathology Department successfully maintained accreditation by the Southern African Development Community Cooperation in Accreditation Services (SADCAS) for another full five-year cycle.

The achievement follows a rigorous surveillance audit conducted on 3rd August 2026, during which the department demonstrated continued compliance with internationally recognised laboratory quality standards.

SADCAS is the regional accreditation body responsible for assessing the competence of laboratories, inspection bodies, and certification organisations across the SADC region. Accreditation signifies that a laboratory consistently produces accurate, reliable, and internationally accepted results.

Maintaining SADCAS accreditation brings numerous benefits, including:

✅ Accurate and reliable laboratory results for improved patient care.
✅ Increased confidence among patients, clinicians, and stakeholders.
✅ Continuous improvement in laboratory quality management systems.
✅ International recognition that strengthens opportunities for collaboration.
✅ Better health outcomes through timely and accurate diagnosis.

This milestone reflects Ndola Teaching Hospital's continued dedication to delivering safe, high-quality, and patient-centred healthcare services.

Congratulations to the entire Pathology Department for this remarkable achievement and for continuing to uphold the highest standards of laboratory excellence.

it plays a vital role in ensuring that you receive timely and accurate healthcare services. Your NRC serves as official proof of identity, which helps hospital staff quickly retrieve your medical records, verify your eligibility for public health services, and prevent identity mix-ups.
