After 25 years it is time to hand over the Health At Campbelltown and Health at Newton legacy and for Anna and I to take a step back from the administration side of running a business. Both businesses have been purchased by the family operated and run Pro HealthCare group.

The medical centers will continue at the same locations and the doctors and staff remain the same . Anna will continue to consult at both the Health At Newton and Health At Campbelltown rooms in a similar capacity .

We have no doubt the new organisation, Pro Healthcare with continue our vision of providing exceptional health services to the inner northern eastern community.

We would like to extend a big thank you to to past and present staff who have helped shape the surgeries to what they are today . We would also like to thank the amazing community who have embraced a new surgery from the start when we commenced operations from a small shop at the Newton Shopping Centre on 17/4/2001 and trusted the surgeries to care for you and your families at your most vulnerable times in your lives .

It has been a privilege to create such relationships within the community. This is not a goodbye. We will continue to serve the community as we transit into a slightly quieter time in our lives.

HEPATITIS B: This week’s misinformation on vaccines is putting lives at risk.
Claims by the United States president Donald Trump that hepatitis B is a sexually transmitted disease and, therefore, children don’t need vaccinations until the age of 12 are erroneous and dangerous.
Hepatitis B can be transmitted through various means, but one of the most common ways is from an infected mother to baby during birth.
Without vaccination, 90 per cent of infected infants develop chronic liver disease, and 25 per cent will die from liver failure or cancer.
The free vaccine, given within 24 hours of birth, is up to 98 per cent effective and has helped reduce childhood infections by 99 per cent since its introduction in the 1980s.
The current recommendations are designed to protect every child, including those who slip through gaps in maternal screening or encounter the virus in everyday life.
Please get your medical advice from your doctor.
