🚭 This year’s theme, “unmasking the appeal - countering ni****ne and to***co addiction” highlights how to***co and ni****ne products are designed and marketed to attract users, especially young people.

To***co and ni****ne industries continue to repackage and promote their products in ways that can make them seem less harmful, while still creating strong addiction and long-term health risks.

The reality is that ni****ne is highly addictive, but the grip of addiction can be broken with the right support.

If you’re thinking about quitting smoking or va**ng, you don’t have to do it alone. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss your options and get personalised support to quit the use of to***co and begin to repair its effects on your long-term health.

May is Crohn’s & Colitis Awareness Month, a time to raise awareness of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD).

Around 180,000 Australians are living with IBD - a lifelong condition that often isn’t visible yet can have a significant impact on daily life. Many people face delays in diagnosis and ongoing challenges managing their symptoms.

Recent data highlights the reality:
👉 1 in 3 people waited more than a year for a diagnosis
👉 On average, people spend around $5,900 each year on out-of-pocket costs for IBD care.

If you’re experiencing ongoing digestive symptoms or concerns, don’t wait, it’s important to seek immediate medical advice.

Book an appointment with your GP to discuss your symptoms and get the support you need.

The thyroid is a small gland in your neck that plays a big role in regulating your metabolism, energy levels, heart rate and more. When it’s not functioning properly, it can impact your whole body.

In Australia, it’s estimated that over 1 million people are living with an undiagnosed thyroid condition, often because symptoms can be subtle or mistaken for other issues.

Thyroid conditions generally fall into two types:
⬇ Hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid): symptoms may include fatigue, weight gain, feeling cold, and low mood
⬆ Hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid): symptoms can include anxiety, weight loss, heat intolerance, and heart palpitations.

The good news is that thyroid disorders can often be diagnosed with a simple blood test and effectively managed once identified.

If you’ve been experiencing any of these symptoms or something just doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss your thyroid health:

Ovarian cancer is one of the most serious women’s cancers in Australia, with around 1,700 women diagnosed each year. It’s often called the “silent disease” because symptoms can be vague, such as bloating, abdominal pain, or feeling full quickly, and are easily overlooked.

There’s currently no effective screening test, which makes awareness of symptoms and early medical advice so important.

For more information, please visit the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation: https://www.ocrf.com.au/

If something doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it. Book an appointment with your GP to discuss any concerns, because early attention can make a real difference.
