We’ve spent OT Week celebrating the incredible variety of occupational therapy and the difference OTs make in helping people participate in everyday life. For us at Williams OT, a huge part of that is driving and mobility.

And now we’re looking for another qualified Occupational Therapy Driver Assessor to join our Adelaide team in 2027!

This isn’t a generalist OT role with a little bit of driving on the side. Driving and mobility are what you’ll do. Your work could include younger and neurodivergent drivers, neurological conditions, mental health and driving anxiety, dementia, complex physical disability, driver rehabilitation, vehicle modifications and drive-from-wheelchair solutions. No two days are really the same!
We’re open to approximately 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, with genuine flexibility around the right person.

Culture matters enormously to us too. We’re looking for someone who connects with our values of nurturing, can do attitude, drive, respect, great communication, and who wants to keep growing in this area of practice.

You don’t need to send a CV or cover letter just to find out more.
If something about this makes you curious, have a confidential chat with Brad

And if you’re not looking yourself but know a Driver Trained OT who might be ready for something different, we’d really appreciate you sending this their way.

🚨job alert🚨
This year marks 15 years of Williams OT, and that is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Not just because we’ve grown, but because of how we’ve grown.

We don’t hire for hiring’s sake.

We think carefully about the role, the impact on the team, the support someone will need, and whether we can create an environment where they can genuinely succeed.

When someone joins Williams OT, we invest in them.

We teach.
We mentor.
We challenge.
We support.

We want people to become confident, highly capable clinicians and, over time, senior in their area of practice.

And we want Williams OT to be better because they joined us.

After 15 years of measured and sustainable growth, we’re now ready to add another Occupational Therapy Driver Assessor to our Adelaide team in 2027.

This is not a generalist OT role with a little driving on the side.

Driving and mobility are at the heart of what we do.

Our work includes neurodivergent drivers, neurological conditions, mental health and driving anxiety, dementia, complex disability, vehicle modifications, driver rehabilitation and drive-from-wheelchair solutions.

We’re open to around 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, with genuine flexibility around the right person.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who connects with our values of Nurturing, Can Do Attitude, Drive, Respect and Great Communication and who wants to become an important, long-term part of Williams OT.

If this makes you even a little curious, take a look at the role through the link in our bio and have a confidential chat with Brad.

And if someone immediately came to mind while reading this, please send it their way.

This year marks 15 years of Williams OT, and that is something I’m incredibly proud of.

Not simply because we’ve grown, but because of how we’ve grown.

We have always tried to grow in a measured and sustainable way.

We don’t hire people just because there is work sitting on a waiting list.

Before bringing someone into Williams OT, we think carefully about the role, the team around them, the support they will need, the impact on our clients and whether we can create an environment where that person can genuinely succeed.

When someone joins us, we invest in them.

We spend time teaching, mentoring, challenging and supporting them so they can become highly capable and confident in their area of practice as quickly and safely as possible.

We want people to grow into senior clinicians.

We want them to ask questions.

We want them to challenge our thinking.

We want them to become better than they thought they could be.

And we want Williams OT to be better because they joined us.

That approach has helped us build the team and culture we have today, based around Nurturing, Can Do Attitude, Drive, Respect and Great Communication.

Now, after 15 years of sustainable growth, we’re ready to add another person to our driving team.

We’re looking for a qualified Occupational Therapy Driver Assessor to join Williams OT in 2027.

This isn’t a generalist OT role with the occasional driving assessment.

Driving and mobility are at the centre of what we do.

Our work ranges from younger and neurodivergent drivers through to neurological conditions, mental health and driving anxiety, dementia, complex physical disability, driver rehabilitation, vehicle modifications and drive-from-wheelchair solutions.

And just as importantly, you won’t be doing it alone.

You’ll be joining an established team that shares knowledge, talks through difficult cases and genuinely wants each other to succeed.

We’re open to approximately 0.6 to 1.0 FTE, with genuine flexibility around the right person.

But we are not looking to hire for hiring’s sake.

We’re looking for the right person, someone who connects with our values, loves this area of OT and could become an important part of Williams OT for years to come.

You don’t need to send a CV or write a cover letter just to find out more.

If this makes you even a little curious, have a look at what the role could look like and have a confidential chat with Brad.

Apparently I’m an adult now.
This year marks 21 years since I became an Occupational Therapist, and 15 years of Williams OT.
That feels slightly ridiculous to write.

A lot has changed in that time. Williams OT has grown, our team has grown, the complexity of the work we do has grown, and I’ve probably accumulated a few more grey hairs along the way. But the thing that has stayed remarkably consistent is why I became an OT in the first place.

Participation matters.
Being able to drive yourself to work.
Learning to drive when the usual way of learning doesn’t quite work for you.
Getting back behind the wheel following injury or illness.
Finding the right wheelchair so you can get out and participate in your community.
Modifying a home or vehicle so somebody can do more for themselves.
Or helping someone find another way forward when life has changed significantly.

For 15 years, Williams OT has been helping people solve those sorts of problems. What started with a strong focus on driving has grown into something much bigger, but the purpose underneath it hasn’t really changed.

Helping people move, drive and participate in everyday life with as much independence as possible.

I’m incredibly proud of what Williams OT has become, but more than anything I’m proud of the people who have helped build it. The OTs, driving instructors, admin team and leaders who challenge ideas, solve ridiculous problems, support each other and genuinely care about the people we work with. And I’m grateful to the clients and families who have trusted us over those 15 years.

Twenty-one years as an OT and I’m still learning, still being challenged and still getting excited when we find a solution that gives somebody a little more independence. So maybe I am an adult now. Although I suspect a few people at Williams OT may dispute that.

Happy OT Week! Here’s to the next chapter 🥂

What makes occupational therapy so rewarding? It's the people we work with and the difference we get to make in their everyday lives.

It's seeing someone gain greater independence, finding a solution that makes daily life a little easier, and helping people work towards goals that matter to them.

Every person we support has their own story, needs and aspirations. Being able to listen, problem-solve and work alongside our clients to find practical solutions is a big part of why we love what we do.

This OT Week, we're celebrating our valued clinicians, the people who trust us to support them, and all the little and big wins along the way.

Here's to helping people do more of what matters to them. đź’™ Happy OT Week!

Happy World Occupational Therapy Day!

This year's OT Week theme, Participation Matters, really resonates with us at Williams OT.

Because ultimately, that is what occupational therapy is about.

Being able to get to work.

Learning to drive.

Getting back behind the wheel after an injury.

Being able to leave your home.

Finding the right wheelchair.

Accessing your community.

Getting your kids to school.

Doing the things that give life meaning.

Sometimes the solution is simple. Sometimes it involves a lot of clinical reasoning, problem-solving, equipment, modifications and teamwork.

But the goal remains the same.

Helping people participate in the lives they want to live.

We're incredibly proud of the OTs at Williams OT and the wider OT profession today.

Happy World OT Day to all of our OT colleagues.

So, how can occupational therapy support greater independence and participation in everyday life? đź’™

One example is through vehicle modifications, such as a floor-mounted left-foot accelerator that can be manually removed when not in use, allowing the vehicle’s standard pedals to function as normal.

Funded through the NDIS, this individually tailored modification allows a learner driver to practise with a family member as their supervising driver, build logbook hours and maintain consistency between lessons with a Medical Driving Instructor (MDI).

Occupational therapy is about finding practical solutions that meet individual needs, build confidence and create opportunities for greater independence.

Happy OT Week 2026! đź’™

This week, we celebrate the occupational therapists who help people build confidence, develop skills, overcome barriers and participate more fully in everyday life.

At Williams OT, we’re proud to support people in achieving greater independence, whether that’s getting behind the wheel, accessing the right assistive technology, or making everyday environments work better for their needs.

To our incredible team and fellow OTs, thank you for the care, creativity and dedication you bring to your work. The difference you make in people’s lives matters. 💫

The Abiloader makes getting a wheelchair in and out of your vehicle so much easier! 🧑‍🦽🚗

Designed to help reduce the need for heavy lifting and awkward manoeuvring, this assistive technology makes loading and unloading a wheelchair more convenient, supporting greater independence and easier access to everyday outings.

Because getting out and about should be about the destination, not the struggle of getting there! ✨
