From next month, communities across Australia will plunge into icy waters in support of Special Olympics Australia.

Every dollar raised supports athletes with intellectual disability and/or autism to experience the life-changing power of sport.

We can't wait to join in like we did last year! How about you?

💡Did you know connecting with providers who have experience working within your specific NDIS budget areas can help you to avoid underutilisation?

Underutilisation is the fancy term for not using all of your funding, and it's quite common!

Things we love:

-The updated NDIS website. Hello clearer menus, shorter pages and simple language - all thanks to participant feedback!

-Screenability at Sydney Film Festival (3-14 June). It showcases bold, groundbreaking stories by creatives with disabilities, plus accessible screenings and relaxed sessions.

-Special Olympics Australia. Celebrating 50 years, engaging 10,000 learners in it's Inclusive Sports Academy, and getting set to welcome athletes for the National Games.

-Team DSC. Masters of simplifying the NDIS for us all!

🎉 10,000 learners are now engaged through Special Olympics Australia's Inclusive Sport Academy!

Since 2018, the Academy has grown into one of Australia's leading digital ecosystems for inclusive sport - featuring 19 specialised learning products for coaches, teachers, volunteers and community leaders to better support people with intellectual disability and autism. 9,000+ completions. 80% completion rate. 95% learner satisfaction.

This National Volunteer Week, we especially honour the volunteers among those 10,000 learners who invest in their own development to better support our athletes. You make inclusive sport possible. 💛

When people feel safe, seen and respected, we create environments where everyone can contribute meaningfully and feel genuinely valued. And that’s why today (International Day Against LGBTQIA+ Discrimination) – is so important.

Recognised globally on 17 May, IDAHOBIT provides an opportunity to pause and reflect on the importance of inclusion, identity and belonging.

Just as we work to normalise conversations about disability, acknowledging the intersection between the LGBTQIA+ and disability communities helps reduce stigma and makes awareness and support part of everyday life. 🌈
