Victim Notification Service

Victims of crime in WA will now be sent an instant phone message to improve their connection to police and support services.

The WA Police Force has launched the Victim Notification Service (VNS), which sends a text from police to confirm the victim’s Incident Report Number and contact details for follow-up.

The message will also provide links to relevant online resources, including information about safety, security and victim support services.

The sender will display as “WAPolice”, and you will not be asked to enter any personal information.

Officers will advise victims they will receive the message unless they choose not to, using the contact number provided.

VNS currently applies to burglary, stealing, damage, fraud and assault offences (excluding family violence).

If you receive a VNS message in error, please contact the Police Assistance Centre on 131 444.

Helping my AuDHD mind transition from being in 'Spectrum Space Symposium' mode, to LOAPAC-Neurodiversity Affirming Psychologists Australia and 'Neurodiversity Affirming Therapy Conference Australia' mode 😜

Best way to do that?

Hyperfocused catch-up promo and writing my presentation 🤣

Just to be clear, this is NOT procrastination.

It's my neuro-affirming strategies for supporting my needs as an AuDHDer......

🧠 chunking my time to work on projects in isolation = more efficient = less stress = better outcomes.

🧠 recognising and allowing processing time that happens BEFORE I can 'do' the observable work...... I am literally integrating ideas and conceptualising my presentations for months before I am ready to write it up.

🧠 trusting that I know myself and my capacities and support needs - even if other people are 'panicking' when I saw my presentation is not yet written in any form yet...... it's not my business to take on board.

🧠 looking at the evidence - I always get it done, and I always contribute something worthy to the metaphorical (and in this Expo case - literal) table.

Why am I sharing this with you.....?

Because it's not enough to understand the theory of neurodiversity-affirming practice.

You need to also see it 'in action' so that you can trust that it actually works!

If you want to chat about this some more - I will be at the Expo with my friend and colleague Robyn Blake-Mortimer sharing our passion for neurodiversity-affirming practice 🔥

Come say 'hi' 🧠 🪷

The LIVE 'Affirming Connection' webinar is happening NEXT WEEK and together we will explore how you can gently (and confidently) engage your Autistic, ADHD & AuDHD perinatal clients with neurodiversity-affirming attunement 🔥

We've All Been There 👇🏻

You care about your clients.
You’re trying to do your best by them.
But, before you know it…. you sense it.

Something’s not working 😮‍💨

The sessions aren’t flowing.
The connection isn’t landing.
You’re watching the drift unfold.
You just can’t figure out why 🤯

Because having an empirical understanding of the Double Empathy Problem is one thing.....

Knowing how to actually address it in the room in a way that affirms and empowers your neurodivergent clients, before it leads to a rupture, a service discontinuation, or a complaint?..

That’s where the real clinical skill lies!

This practical CPD session is designed to help you strengthen your therapeutic know-how and build your affirming connection confidence, so you can help your neurodivergent families feel truly safe, seen, and supported.

Secure your spot using the link below. I cannot wait to see you then! 🧠 🪷
