🧠💬 Celebrating Speech Pathology Week!

Connect the Dots 2026

Today we brought together an incredible group of people who share a commitment to improving outcomes for people living with brain injury and their families.

That’s exactly why Connect the Dots exists - to bring people together, share knowledge, strengthen relationships and create connections across our brain injury community.

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us this morning. We genuinely appreciate you taking the time to be there, contribute to the conversations, ask questions, share your experience and connect with others in the room. You are what makes this event so worthwhile.

We were also very fortunate to hear from Professor Grahame Simpson, who gave us plenty to think about and take back into our practice.

And, of course, a huge thank you to our ONE Rehabilitation Service team for everything that went into making today happen.

Another Connect the Dots done and many more connections made.

NeuroBOOST is a national finalist!

We’re incredibly excited to share that ONE Rehabilitation Service’s NeuroBOOST Program has been named a national finalist in the 2026 Australian Allied Health Awards – Innovative Product Excellence category.

NeuroBOOST is our intensive upper limb rehabilitation program for people with stroke, acquired brain injury and other neurological conditions who want to work towards improving arm and hand function.

The program combines high-repetition, task-specific practice with specialised rehabilitation technology and individualised therapy delivered by our neurological rehabilitation team.

To see NeuroBOOST recognised nationally is a wonderful acknowledgement of the program, the clinicians who have developed and delivered it, and most importantly the people who have worked so hard towards their rehabilitation goals through NeuroBOOST.

We’re so proud to see a program developed here in Adelaide recognised alongside innovative allied health initiatives from across Australia.

Winners will be announced on 10 October 2026 - wish us luck!

It’s Brain Injury Awareness Week!

This year’s theme is Brain Injury: Many Pathways, One Community.

It’s a theme that really resonates with us because no two people experience brain injury in the same way.

For one person, the biggest challenge might be walking safely again. For someone else, it might be managing fatigue, remembering appointments, communicating with family, returning to work, getting back into the community, or simply feeling more confident in everyday life.

Some people are early in their recovery. Others may be years down the track and still working towards new goals, adapting to change or finding new ways to live well.

There is no single pathway after brain injury.

What matters is having the right support around you, being listened to, and having the opportunity to work towards the things that matter most to you.

Some of our amazing clinicians recently attended the REAL-COG TBI: Cognitive Rehabilitation After Traumatic Brain Injury – A Functional Approach training, an interactive program focused on evidence-informed, functional cognitive rehabilitation for people with traumatic brain injury.

A special shout-out to our Speech Pathologist, Jo, who contributed to the co-design of the training through the Advisory Panel and was invited to present and facilitate discussions during the workshop. We’re incredibly proud to see her sharing her expertise and helping shape best practice for clinicians across the sector! 👏🧠

The ‘Bridges’ team at The University of Sydney are looking for participants for their research project about exercising with TBI. If you have had a traumatic brain injury and are interested in participating, the survey can be found here http://tiny.cc/bridges_survey or via the QR code.

The researchers have told us “It would be great to have some better representation from SA because the more voices we have heard, the more accurate and representative our advocacy can be.”

More information and contact details for the researchers can be found on the first page of the survey (which you can read via the link, without committing to complete the survey).
