Su***de. It’s a battle that’s on our doorstep. How do we fight it? By caring, by loving each other, by putting our hand up and asking for help

Am I adding to their plate or am I taking away from it. Am I making life easier for them or am I making life tougher?

When an absolute champion of young man stands up in a room full of his peers and calls em out on racism it’s a moment they’ll never forget. My heart goes out to these fellas! What a day! You young men are absolute lords! Thank you for being the man you are! Thank you for being such a huge part of find ya feet, you have such a solid presence in our community. Three years ago you started the Cronulla Sharks Mental Fitness round and have brought this most important work to peoples homes workplaces and social settings through conversations that matter! are so proud to be the recipient for the second year in a row! Can’t wait to be at this Friday night for the game v . To and for your time today I’m so grateful. What epic men you are. For these young men to have their heroes in the room simply listening to them and showing you care is the greatest gift to any young person! Thanks for helping the boys find their find and you finding yours alongside them xo

Words below by Justin Langer AM (thanks JL for taking the time and caring mate)

There is a moment in every honest conversation when the room changes. The voice softens. The eyes glass over. The mask slips.

I watched it happen again and again this week when I met a fellow Aussie named Tommy Herschell. Tommy founded Find Ya Feet, an Australian not-for-profit organisation running mental health workshops in schools, sporting clubs, corporates and prisons. Their tagline is disarmingly simple: One solid conversation can shift change in a person forever.

After three days with Tommy, I believe everything he is saying.

I’ve felt like crying more times this week than I can count, listening to him tell stories about the struggles of school kids, farmers in drought, blokes in maximum security and elite athletes; all who are carrying impossible pressure and silent anguish.

‘I left the team hotel and walked around the corner. I saw this man’s Chevy chase (face) and I couldn’t leave. We sat and didn’t speak. He just smiled with his uncle Keith all out and about like a grand piano in a hotel lobby and I laughed and he then smiled more and that made me smile more. It was simple really’ me
