Today is R U OK?Day đź’›

It’s an important reminder to look out for our teams, our leaders, our workmates, and ourselves.

A simple conversation can change a life.

If you are checking in with a colleague today, remember the four steps outlined by R U OK?

Ask: Reach out warmly and ask, “How have you really been coping lately?”

Listen: Give your full attention without jumping in to “fix” the problem.

Encourage Action: Help them explore next steps.

Check In: Follow up in a few days to show you genuinely care.

We’re keeping this conversation going every single day.

On 10 September, teams across Australia are preparing to stop and ask R U OK?

Actevate has a long history of supporting the R U OK? campaigns and helping businesses make the most of the day.

We run workshops online and in-person, in the lead-up to the day and in the weeks around it to help embed the R U OK Day model into the workplace culture.

Our workshops support the evolution of an authentic, year-round support strategy. We cover the full spectrum of mental health and wellbeing to empower managers and teams with practical tools to fulfil your legal obligation and foster a high-performing culture.

Awareness without action is futile. Good intentions need to be paired with actionable behavioural change.

If you would like us to run a workshop for your workplace, send us an email and someone from our team will be in touch.

Globally, 20% of the adult population is navigating life with invisible pain.

September is Pain Awareness Month.

Although chronic pain remains the number one reason people visit their healthcare provider, it is often poorly understood and misrepresented.

While the physical toll of chronic pain is widely documented, the psychological burden remains heavily obscured. Clinical data shows that up to 85% of chronic pain sufferers also experience clinically significant depression or anxiety.

Untreated emotional distress actively worsens physical pain, and unmanaged physical pain erodes emotional resilience. They are two sides of the exact same coin.

A timely reminder of the impact chronic pain has on the lives of millions of Australians, and the hopeful future that integrated care can provide.

If your premiums went up again this year, you’re not imagining it, and more importantly, you are not alone. Premium baselines are climbing across multiple sectors, and the recent reforms have shifted more cost onto employers.

Workers compensation premiums are rising, but most employers have far more control over the outcome than they realise. Companies in your exact same sector could be paying vastly different rates based entirely on how they manage their data and claims history.

In one recent review, we identified a claims coding issue that was having a significant impact on a client’s premium calculation. A relatively simple correction resulted in thousands in savings.

Join Actevate for a practical lunch power hour where we’ll pull back the curtain on how workers compensation premiums are calculated, where savings opportunities are commonly missed, and what employers can do to take greater control of their costs.

1 in 28 Australian workers experience a work-related injury or illness every single year.

For officers and executives carrying due-diligence exposure, the question is not if you can afford to act. It is whether you can afford the cost of inaction.

By identifying emerging hazards early and implementing early intervention at the first sign of physical or mental strain, you directly protect your workforce and your business model.

Do not wait for an incident or a regulatory audit to expose system failures.

Proactive risk management is a core legislative directive and your absolute best line of prevention.
