NDIS support should feel respectful, clear and centred around the person receiving it.

It should not feel rushed, confusing or one-size-fits-all. The right support should help participants feel listened to, informed and included in decisions about their care.

Good NDIS support respects your pace, your choices, your goals and your everyday needs.
It should feel safe, human and connected to what matters most to you.

At Affective Care, we believe support should be built on trust, dignity and emotional understanding, so participants and families feel more confident every step of the way.

Support coordination can look different for every NDIS participant.

Some people may only need help connecting with services, while others may need ongoing support to organise providers, manage service gaps or respond to more complex situations.

In the NDIS, support coordination may be funded at different levels:

βœ”οΈ Level 1: Support Connection
This helps participants connect with informal, community and funded supports.

βœ”οΈ Level 2: Support Coordination
This helps participants understand and use their plan, connect with providers, coordinate services and build confidence over time.

βœ”οΈ Level 3: Specialist Support Coordination
This is a higher level of support for participants with more complex needs, risks, service barriers or multiple systems involved.

The right level depends on the participant’s individual goals, disability-related needs, informal supports, current challenges and the level of help needed to use the plan effectively.

At Affective Care, we believe support coordination should feel clear, respectful and participant-led. Our team helps participants and families better understand their options, connect with suitable services and feel more confident using their NDIS plan.

Because good support is not just about organising services. It is about helping people feel heard, respected and supported in the choices that shape their life.

Your NDIS plan is there to support your goals, daily needs and choices.

In 2026, staying informed, asking questions and keeping clear records can help you use your supports with more confidence.

NDIS planning changes are expected to continue gradually, so understanding your current plan can help you feel more confident when using supports or preparing for future reviews.

Here are 5 simple things to remember:

1. Your goals still matter.
Your supports should connect back to your needs, goals and everyday life.

2. Keep records of your support needs.
Notes, reports, changes in circumstances and real-life examples can help explain what support is needed.

3. Know what your funding can cover.
Not every support or service is automatically included, so it is important to check your plan and ask when unsure.

4. Review service agreements carefully.
Before signing, make sure you understand pricing, cancellation rules, travel, non-face-to-face charges and what services will be provided.

5. Ask questions early.
If something feels unclear, speak with your provider, Support Coordinator, plan manager or the NDIA before issues build up.

At Affective Care, we support participants and families with clear communication, emotionally-centred care and NDIS supports that respect choice, dignity and individual goals. Your plan should work with your life, not make things harder.

Not all NDIS support works the same way and that’s where many participants and families can feel unsure.

LACs, Support Connection and Support Coordination all have different roles in the NDIS journey.

Each type of support may help with something different:
βœ”οΈ LACs may help you understand the NDIS and prepare for planning or reviews
βœ”οΈ Support Connection may help you get started with your plan
βœ”οΈ Support Coordination may help when your providers, budgets or support needs require more ongoing help

The most important thing to remember is this: you do not have to understand everything all at once.

The right support should help you feel:
βœ”οΈ Clearer about your plan
βœ”οΈ More informed about your options
βœ”οΈ More confident in your choices
βœ”οΈ More supported when things change

At Affective Care, we take the time to listen, understand your needs and help you explore support options that feel right for you.

Support should reduce stress, not add to it.

Your heart has its own rhythm, and sometimes it may send signs that something needs attention. ❀️

This World Heart Rhythm Week is a gentle reminder to listen to your body and take heart health seriously. Irregular heartbeat, dizziness, chest discomfort, shortness of breath or unusual fatigue should never be ignored.

A simple check-up, early support and the right medical advice can make a meaningful difference.

At Affective Care, we believe caring for your health starts with awareness, compassion and timely support.

Listen to your heart. Care for your rhythm.

NDIS support should feel clear, flexible and centred around the participant’s everyday life.

For many people living with disability, the right support can make daily routines feel safer, calmer and more manageable. This may include help with personal care, therapy services, daily living skills, community access, behaviour support, social participation or building independence over time.

But good support is not just about ticking off services.

It is about understanding the person, their goals, their preferences and the kind of support that helps them feel respected, confident and heard.

At Affective Care, we listen first. We work alongside participants, families and support networks to provide NDIS services that are practical, respectful and emotionally-centred.

Every participant’s needs are different, which is why support should never feel one-size-fits-all. It should be shaped around real goals, daily routines, choice and control.

Your goals matter.
Your voice matters.
Your support should work with your life.

Affective Care is here to support participants and families with care, clarity and heart.

Psychology can play a powerful role in supporting people living with disability, but understanding how it fits within the NDIS isn’t always clear.

NDIS-funded psychology focuses on building skills, emotional regulation, confidence, and everyday independence, not generic counselling.
When psychology is clearly linked to disability-related needs and participant goals, it is commonly funded under Capacity Building – Improved Daily Living.

In this guide, we break down:
βœ”οΈ What NDIS psychology actually means
βœ”οΈ What psychology can support across different life stages
βœ”οΈ Where funding sits in an NDIS plan
βœ”οΈ Appointment options (clinic, community, telehealth)
βœ”οΈ How psychology becomes β€œreasonable and necessary”

You don’t need to have everything figured out before seeking support.

At Affective Care, we listen first, explain options clearly, and support you to move forward at a pace that feels right with care, clarity, and respect.

Choosing an NDIS provider is an important decision, and asking the right questions can help you feel more confident before starting supports.

Before signing a service agreement, take time to ask about the provider’s registration, services, pricing, communication, incident management, flexibility and how they support your personal goals.

A good NDIS provider should be clear, respectful and person-centred. They should explain your options, listen to your needs, and support you in a way that feels safe and aligned with your NDIS plan.

Remember, you have choice and control. It is okay to ask questions, compare providers and choose support that feels right for you.

At Affective Care, we listen first, explain clearly and support participants with care, respect and understanding.
