Exciting new store coming to Nowra!!!
Thanks for choosing us to provide your packaging locally.

Something very very special is opening in Nowra. Waminda’s Bindhi Ya Gunyah is a new retail store (opens 28 Oct). It brings together all the great Blak Cede products and Waminda work alongside the work of 30 Aboriginal artists, creators and businesses, creating the most welcoming home for art, culture, creativity and community.
The store here is very special indeed and no doubt will be a destination.
And that’s no surprise because Bindhi means to give, Bindhi Ya means to give to, and Gunyah means shelter or home. The name reflects the heart of the space: a place to give, share, support & connect 🖤💛❤️
Well done to the Waminda and Bindhi Ya Gunyah team for putting together such an inviting and special place.
📍You can find Bindhi Ya Gunyah just down from Blak Cede at Shop 2/45 Kinghorne St Nowra.

Another day, another Australia Post whinge! 😤📦 When you’re a small business, every delayed parcel, price hike and delivery issue costs us time, money and customer trust. We work hard to keep our businesses alive, but how are we supposed to compete when postage is becoming a business expense we can barely afford? Small businesses deserve better! 🇦🇺💔

This one hits a little close to home. 💔

We recently invested over $10,000 Deposit into fitting out our van with Drifter, and in just 1 weeks’ time we’re meant to be having the fit out & hitting the road and putting it all to good use.

Now, with Drifter going into voluntary administration, we’re left hoping that they can pull through and that our plans can still go ahead. 🤞

But beyond our own situation, this really highlights something that I think we all need to pay more attention to.

Australian small businesses are doing it tough.

Behind every small business are real people, families, employees, suppliers and communities. Rising costs, increasing overheads, changing consumer habits and the sheer pressure of keeping a business running can make things incredibly precarious.

And the sad reality is that when these businesses disappear, we don't just lose a shop, a service or a brand.

We lose part of our communities.

We need to do better at supporting Australian businesses. ❤️

Shop local when you can.
Buy Australian when you can.
Use the small business instead of automatically choosing the cheapest option.
Recommend them. Share their posts. Tell your friends about them.
And remember that sometimes paying a little more means helping a real person keep their doors open.

Because if we don't start supporting these businesses, what will be left?

Fingers crossed for the next two weeks. 🤞❤️

Support small. Support Australian. Support the businesses that support our communities.
