This one hits a little close to home. 💔

We recently invested over $10,000 Deposit into fitting out our van with Drifter, and in just 1 weeks’ time we’re meant to be having the fit out & hitting the road and putting it all to good use.

Now, with Drifter going into voluntary administration, we’re left hoping that they can pull through and that our plans can still go ahead. 🤞

But beyond our own situation, this really highlights something that I think we all need to pay more attention to.

Australian small businesses are doing it tough.

Behind every small business are real people, families, employees, suppliers and communities. Rising costs, increasing overheads, changing consumer habits and the sheer pressure of keeping a business running can make things incredibly precarious.

And the sad reality is that when these businesses disappear, we don't just lose a shop, a service or a brand.

We lose part of our communities.

We need to do better at supporting Australian businesses. ❤️

Shop local when you can.
Buy Australian when you can.
Use the small business instead of automatically choosing the cheapest option.
Recommend them. Share their posts. Tell your friends about them.
And remember that sometimes paying a little more means helping a real person keep their doors open.

Because if we don't start supporting these businesses, what will be left?
