Disclaimer: Cosmetic Image Clinics provides a range of practitioner-led treatments which may support skin health, restore facial balance, and address individual concerns. Before commencing any treatment, a personalised consultation is required to assess suitability. Suitability is determined by a qualified health practitioner following a comprehensive medical assessment.

All procedures carry potential risks, possible side effects, variable recovery times, and outcomes that may differ between individuals. Every person’s anatomy is unique, and results will vary.

Bringing together local and international experts, the conference focuses on clinical education, emerging technologies, industry trends and practical learning designed to support safe, evidence-informed practice.

At Cosmetic Image Clinics, we believe professional development isn’t optional—it’s an essential part of providing high-quality patient care.

Whether it’s attending conferences, participating in workshops or undertaking further training, we’re committed to continually expanding our knowledge and refining our approach.

One of the most common questions we hear in clinic is simple:
“Will it look natural?”

In Episode 3 of Face Value, Dr Ingrid Tall explains why the answer has far less to do with the treatment itself and far more to do with the person performing it.

After more than two decades in cosmetic medicine, Dr Tall has seen aesthetic trends come and go. Today, the industry is moving away from overcorrection and towards a more considered approach—one that respects individual anatomy and focuses on balanced, natural-looking outcomes.

The goal isn’t to make you look like someone else. It’s to assess your unique features, understand your concerns, and determine whether a treatment is appropriate—and if so, how to achieve an outcome that complements your face.

Watch Episode 3 to hear Dr Tall’s perspective on why experience, assessment and clinical judgement matter.

Small tool, big results!

The Ellman Surgitron machine utilises high-frequency radio waves to precisely remove benign moles or skin tags without cutting or sutures. This technology ensures minimal damage to surrounding tissues, resulting in smoother and more natural-looking outcomes with minimal scarring.

In regions like sunny Australia where moles are common, individuals may find themselves dealing with benign moles that pose no threat but may cause discomfort or be aesthetically undesirable, particularly when located on prominent areas like the face or neck. Cosmetic mole removal provides a solution for those seeking to address such concerns without undergoing invasive surgical procedures.

All mole removals are assessed by a medical professional to ensure safety and suitability.

Those tiny white bumps that never seem to disappear? They might not be pimples at all.

Milia are small keratin-filled cysts that form just beneath the surface of the skin. Unlike acne, they don’t have an opening to the skin, which is why squeezing them at home is usually unsuccessful and can damage the surrounding skin.

In clinic, milia can often be carefully extracted using appropriate sterile techniques after assessing whether treatment is suitable for your skin.

If you’re noticing persistent bumps that aren’t responding to your skincare routine, it’s worth having them assessed rather than continuing to pick at them.

Early starts, clean benches, and a treatment room that’s ready before you are.

This is what behind the scenes at CIC looks like — and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

One of the most important things we do in cosmetic medicine is know when not to treat.

Not every consultation ends with a procedure. And not every concern is addressed in the way a patient initially expects.

A patient may come in wanting fuller lips. But after a comprehensive assessment, it may become clear that the outcome they’re hoping for is actually being influenced by facial structure, balance, or support elsewhere. Treating the area they’ve identified alone may not move them closer to their goal.

That’s why consultation matters.

At Cosmetic Image Clinics, we don’t view consultations as a formality before treatment. They’re an opportunity to assess what’s actually changing, what’s contributing to it, and whether any intervention is appropriate at all.

Sometimes the recommendation is a treatment plan.

Sometimes it’s a conversation about timing.

Sometimes it’s deciding that doing nothing right now is the most appropriate course of action.

That’s what GP-led cosmetic medicine looks like: assessment before intervention, individualised recommendations, and honest conversations about what is — and isn’t — likely to make a meaningful difference.

Dr Ingrid Tall has spent more than 20 years helping patients navigate those decisions.

Most people point to exactly where they want to look different.

But in cosmetic medicine, where you treat and where you see the change are often not the same place.

This patient had heaviness building in her lower face — a common shift that happens as the face ages and volume redistributes downward. The instinct is to address it directly. But the area actually driving that heaviness was behind the jaw, just in front of the ear.
By addressing that region, we can restore the lift that pulls the lower face back into balance.

It’s the difference between treating the symptom and treating the cause.

This is why a thorough facial assessment matters before anything else — understanding the architecture of how your face has changed determines where attention actually needs to go.

Your birth year doesn’t determine your skin concerns — but it’s a pretty good predictor.

In our 20s, we’re often managing breakouts and sun damage we can’t see yet.

By our 40s, we’re noticing pigmentation and firmness we can’t ignore.

By our 60s, we’re looking for support on multiple levels.

The pattern is real. But the solution is always individual.

Here’s what we know after two decades in cosmetic medicine: the best treatment plans don’t start with your age. They start with assessing your skin as it actually is.

Comment your decade below — we want to know. 👇
