Not just glasses! 👓Myopia is an ocular condition that affects more than 2.5 billion people around the world! 🌍

Blurry vision 😵‍💫and expensive 💸lenses aren’t the only problems with myopia. The eyeball stretches in ways that can affect your sight long-term, causing things like macula problems, glaucoma and retinal detachments.

Remember the 2️⃣0️⃣/ 2️⃣0️⃣/2️⃣0️⃣ rule:
For every 20 minutes of screen time, look away at an object 20 feet (6 meters) away for 20 seconds.

“Plus” ➕ or “hyperopic” prescriptions are a little more complicated than your typical “minus” ➖ ones - simply because the eye is such a complex organ that is constantly focusing and unfocusing! 👁️👁️

At a young age, you may not experience the typical “blur” as seen in the video - but you might experience symptoms like headaches or intermittent blurry vision when you’ve been reading or using your phone for too long! 😵‍💫

At around age 45, our reading vision becomes harder and blurrier - our focusing system begins to slow down.
