After almost 15 years of working with clients, there are certain things I hear again and again from people who finally take the step to get personalised support for their health.

If you resonate with any of these, you’re not alone - so many have been where you are.💚

Most people I work with didn’t come to me straight away.
They waited. They second-guessed themselves. They tried to figure out on their own. They were told everything looked “fine”… even when they didn’t feel it. Or they just didn’t realise help was available.

And somewhere along the way, they started to wonder if maybe this is just how things are.

There’s rarely a perfect time to start BUT there does come a point where continuing as you are feels harder than making a change.

If you’ve been putting it off, take this as your sign to start the conversation.

After seeing a new client for first time recently, I sent them away with a couple of simple recommendations to start supporting their energy, mood and constipation while we waited on some bloodwork and I put together a more comprehensive plan.

The recommendations?
>Increase water from 500ml to 1.5L💦
>Eat 2 kiwifruit daily🥝

When I saw them 2 weeks later, this was their comment.

"life changing..I feel so much better already".

Already theyy felt so much better in themselves - having more frequent bowel movements, clearer skin and more energy.

Sometimes it's not the fancy supplements, restrictive diets or complicated protocols that produce the results. But the power getting back to basics and using food as medicine.💪

✋I'm not saying it's this simple for everyone. AND this person has a ways to go to address some chronic issues.

BUT foundations are so important and sometimes the simple things can make the biggest difference.

Sometimes the basics get overlooked. What’s one “back to basics” change you could try this week?

A big thank you to everyone who came along on a cold winter’s night for my Food & Mood workshop last week ❄️

It was so lovely to see a mix of new and familiar faces 😊

I’m thinking about running this again online later in the year...especially for those of you who aren’t Adelaide-based or find it tricky to get out to evening events. If that’s you, let me know in the comments 👇

I’m always looking for ways to make health information more accessible (and more affordable, especially in the current climate). If workshops like this interest you, I’d love your input - what topics would you like covered? What days or times suit you best?

What if improving your mood was as simple as including this one fruit to your diet?

It might sound too easy… but kiwifruit🥝 has actually been studied for its impact on mood.

Research shows that eating 2 kiwifruit a day over 8 weeks can:
• improve depression scores
• increase energy
• support overall mental wellbeing

One of the reasons? They’re incredibly rich in vitamin C, which plays a key role in supporting brain chemicals involved in mood. Other studies have highlighted vit C deficiency can contribute to depression, stress and anxiety.

Kiwifruit also help nourish gut bacteria which support a healthy mood… and your gut and brain are constantly communicating.

It’s simple, but not insignificant.
And it’s a great reminder that food can be powerful medicine when it comes to how we feel day to day.

This is exactly the kind of practical, evidence-based nutrition we’ll be diving into in my upcoming Mood & Food Workshop.

If you’ve been feeling flat, overwhelmed, anxious, or not quite like yourself… this might help.

Your mind is not separate from your body.🤯
Our health system might lead us to believe that our mental health is seperate to our biology..but they come as a package.
They work together, constantly influencing each other.

And when we focus on one while ignoring the other… we only get part of the picture.

It’s not always just about what’s happening in your life
(although that absolutely matters)

Sometimes, it’s about what’s happening in your body.

Things like:
• Blood sugar ups and downs
• Gut health and your microbiome
• Nutrient deficiencies
• How well you’re actually fuelling your body day to day

All of these can influence how you feel — your mood, your stress response, your ability to think clearly and regulate emotions.

For some people, this is the missing piece.

Not because it replaces psychological support…
but because it supports it.

It can make things feel more manageable, more stable, more “you”.

I’m running a workshop soon where I’ll walk you through this in a really practical way - helping you understand the connection between your physical health and your mental wellbeing, and what you can actually do about it.🌿🍏

Because you’re not broken…
your body might just need more support.

Have you ever noticed that shaky, on-edge, almost panicky feeling when you haven’t eaten for a while?

For some people, it’s not just “hunger”… it can feel a lot like anxiety.

When your blood sugar drops, your body sees this as a physical emergency that needs quick correction. To compensate, it releases stress hormones like cortisol and adrenaline to bring your levels back up. It also disrupts your brain chemistry which can lead to changes in mood and emotional regulation.

And those are the same hormones involved in anxiety and panic.

This can look like:
• Feeling jittery or shaky
• Racing heart or sense of urgency
• Irritability or feeling overwhelmed
• Sudden waves of anxiety or panic

On top of that, your brain isn’t getting the steady fuel it needs — making it harder to think clearly, regulate emotions, and stay calm.

The good news? Supporting stable blood sugar can make a big difference for mood, anxiety, and mental clarity.

Here’s where to start:
• Prioritise protein at meals (especially breakfast)
• Include fibre-rich foods to slow glucose release
• Eat regular meals to avoid dips and crashes
• Limit high GI carbs (like white bread, white rice) that spike then drop your blood sugar

Stable blood sugar = more stable mood, calmer nervous system, clearer thinking.

This is exactly what I’ll be unpacking in my upcoming workshop - breaking down the why behind symptoms like anxiety, and giving you simple, practical strategies you can actually use in real life.
