Potential food triggers for fibromyalgia pain ✴️
✋ Before I get into the list — an important caveat. Fibromyalgia is deeply individual. Not everyone will react to the foods below, and there may be other foods not on this list that are a problem for you specifically. These are simply the common culprits I see clinically and that appear in the research.
✴️ Wheat or gluten
✴️ Lactose & dairy
✴️ MSG & artificial sweeteners
✴️ Sugar & refined carbohydrates
✴️ Caffeine
✴️ Animal fats (in high amounts)
Please don't race off and cut all of these out at once! Working with a nutritionist or naturopath who understands fibromyalgia means you can go through an elimination process safely — and actually get a clear picture of what's affecting you and what isn't.
