On Monday 27 July 2026, testing Australia’s new national warning system AusAlert.
During the national test, an alert will be sent to all compatible mobile devices in Australia, which includes most mobile phones, some smart watches and some tablets. Apple iPads won’t receive AusAlerts.
The test times across Australia are:
🔸Australian Capital Territory – 2pm AEST
🔸New South Wales – 2pm AEST
🔸Queensland – 2pm AEST
🔸Tasmania – 2pm AEST
🔸Victoria – 2pm AEST
🔸Broken Hill, NSW – 1.30pm ACST
🔸South Australia – 1.30pm ACST
🔸Northern Territory – 1.30pm ACST
🔸Western Australia – 12pm AWST
🔸Christmas Island – 11am CXT.
If your device receives the AusAlert national test, it will vibrate and make a loud siren-like sound for about 10 seconds before stopping, even if your device is on ‘silent’ or ‘do not disturb’.
Help spread the word.
If someone in your life may not be aware of the AusAlert national test, call them today and share this information with them so they know what to expect. 📢
You can find a range of resources to help you and your loved ones prepare for the national test at the link in our comments.
Make sure your family, friends and colleagues are ready for the AusAlert national test on Monday 27 July by sharing this post. ✅

Wednesday Advice. Happy hump day 🙂

Stay connected with your support coordinator or provider—even when things are going well.
Regular check-ins (even just a quick message or call) help catch small issues before they become big ones, keep your plan on track, and make sure your supports are actually working for your day-to-day life. You don't need to wait for a problem to reach out—your provider is there to adjust and improve things as you go, not just fix what's broken.

POV: You challenged your participant to an arm wrestle and they're absolutely destroying you

You went into this thinking easy win. Bit of fun. Maybe a confidence boost.

Reality check: Your participant is a MACHINE and your hand is getting slowly, mercilessly pinned while they're barely trying. You're taking home silver. Maybe bronze. Okay, a participation ribbon.

But here's the thing—when it's bucketing down outside and indoor activities turn competitive, everyone wins. Staying active isn't about who's stronger (clearly not you). It's about keeping moving, staying connected, and having a laugh—even when that laugh is at your expense.

Arm wrestling, dance battles, plank competitions—whatever keeps bodies moving and spirits high when the rain won't quit. Your participants deserve to stay active and engaged, rain or shine.

Indoor activity days hit different. And apparently, so does your participant. Respect.
