You've probably seen the circular marks on athletes. Here's the plain version of why cupping works, and why we use it.
Myofascial cupping creates negative pressure in the soft tissue. That draws circulation into restricted areas, loosens fascial adhesions, and reduces the muscular tension that builds up from sustained postures. "It brings the ill wind to the surface to be carried away".
