Calvary Bruce Private Hospital is co-located within Calvary Public Hospital Bruce campus in Canberra, ACT, serving the communities of Canberra, Belconnen and the Gungahlin precinct. Calvary Bruce Private Hospital is a teaching facility affiliated with the Australian Catholic University, the Australian National University and the University of Canberra. Founded in 1885 by the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, Calvary is a charitable, not-for-profit, Catholic health care organisation. Our mission is to provide quality, compassionate health care to the most vulnerable, including those reaching the end of their life. With over 18,000 staff and volunteers, we have a national network of 14 Public and Private Hospitals, 72 Residential Care and Retirement Communities and 19 Community Care service centres. When someone you love is in hospital, being able to stay close can make a difficult time that little bit easier. 💙

For Jackie, Calvary Rotary Cottage became a home away from home while Jesse received treatment in Canberra.

Just a two-minute walk from Calvary Bruce Private Hospital, the Cottage gave Jackie somewhere comfortable to rest, wash clothes and collect anything Jesse needed – while knowing she could be back by his side within minutes.

“It made everything so much easier and far less stressful, especially during such an emotional and worrying time,” Jackie said.

For 30 years, Calvary Rotary Cottage has supported patients, families and carers who need somewhere to stay close to hospital care in Canberra.

Meet Natalie and Ros, two valued members of our Patient Services team at the Surgical Admissions Desk.

If you're coming to CBPH for a surgical procedure, there's a good chance you'll be welcomed and checked in by one of these friendly faces. As part of the patient's journey, Natalie and Ros provide support and direction during the admission process, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.

Today is also a special day for Natalie, who is celebrating her birthday! As you can see, her desk has been suitably decorated for the occasion. 🎂

We are proud to celebrate Sinduja Karikkatil, Registered Nurse at Calvary Bruce Private Hospital, who was recognised as a finalist in the 2025 National Mary Potter Awards. NAIDOC Week Staff Lunch

From 5–12 July 2026, we celebrate NAIDOC Week, a time for all Australians to recognise, celebrate and learn about the histories, cultures, achievements and ongoing contributions of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

To celebrate the occasion, staff came together for a special lunch catered by our fantastic kitchen team. We also invited staff to share what NAIDOC Week means to them and how they celebrate it, creating a meaningful opportunity for reflection, connection and learning across our hospital community.

This year’s theme, “50 Years of Deadly,” marks an important milestone, celebrating five decades of NAIDOC Week and recognising the strength, resilience, leadership and cultural pride of First Nations peoples. The theme honours the Elders, community leaders, artists, activists and generations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who have helped shape NAIDOC into the national celebration it is today.

NAIDOC Week provides an opportunity for us all to reflect on the importance of reconciliation, deepen our understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, and celebrate the world's oldest continuing living cultures.
