Special thanks to Chenbo and Shilaine for delivering an excellent PD session for our team on strength and conditioning principles. It was a great practical application of current best practice, and we’re looking forward to applying some of that knowledge with our rehab patients this week.

Physiotherapists Reuben Fox and Chenbo Sun have been upskilled in whiplash management to support people with evidence-based care that considers the full picture of recovery. That means support for movement, function, and a clear, personalised plan to help you return to the activities that matter most.

If you’ve been experiencing neck pain, stiffness, headaches, or other symptoms after a road traffic accident, early support may help with symptom management and recovery.

A recent University of Queensland article highlights a more complete approach to whiplash care, recognising that recovery may be influenced by more than neck pain alone. Stress, sleep disruption, tension, difficulty driving again, and concerns about work or daily activities can all play a part in how someone feels and recovers.

A special moment at Burswood Health today! 💕

A huge thank you to our wonderful Casey, who is heading off on maternity leave. Today we had a lovely “changing of the guard” as she passed the “Pelvis” to our fantastic Louisa!

With growing awareness of the important role physiotherapists play in pelvic health and the benefits of pelvic floor strengthening, we’re excited to welcome more patients to our Women's Health Services and Clinical Pilates services under Louisa’s guidance.

We were thrilled to host Naomi Terpsis, Registered Psychologist from The Expansion Point, for an inspiring in-house session with our clinical team of physiotherapists and chiropractors. A massive thank you to Naomi and Reuben for organising this fantastic learning opportunity! 🙌

Naomi shared powerful insights into Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and its application in pain psychology. We explored:
- Why traditional CBT sometimes falls short
- The important purpose pain can play
- How to help patients accept and effectively manage pain rather than endlessly chase complete elimination
- Practical techniques like creative hopelessness and reflective listening
- The power of aligning treatment with each patient’s personal values and meaningful life goals

By better understanding the psychological and emotional side of pain, our team is even more equipped to support you with compassion, curiosity, and real-world strategies that help you move forward.
