🤔What’s happening at WA Health Group?

Reuben and Chenbo have recently been involved in the PICOT Trial through The University of Queensland, helping further develop the skills physiotherapists use to support people recovering from whiplash and neck pain following motor vehicle accidents. 🚗

❓Why get involved in whiplash research?

Reuben:
“People recovering from whiplash injuries are often dealing with more than just pain. They may struggle with confidence, returning to the road, and managing ongoing symptoms. I wanted to be involved so I could continue building the latest evidence-based knowledge and skills to better support these patients in their recovery.”

Chenbo:
“Whiplash injuries can be complex, and I’ve always had a strong interest in neck injuries. Being involved in the PICOT Trial allowed me to further develop my understanding of the latest assessments and treatment approaches to better support recovery.”

At WA Health Group, ongoing learning, research, and evidence-based practice remain central to providing high-quality care for our patients. 💪

Osteoporosis classes at Murdoch

Classes run by our Accredited Exercise Physiologist Addan running for 1 hour.
The classes are designed to support people with Osteoporosis through weight-bearing and resistance-based exercises.
The exercise programs are designed to be based on patients physical abilities, providing structured, evidence- informed exercise guidance within a safe and supportive environment.
Sessions focus on improving posture, balance and mobility.

An Initial assessment is required to assess and check individual health and ability before attending a class.

Our physios, Chenbo and Shilaine, recently completed a Physio Strength & Conditioning course with Dr. Merv Travers.

There was a lot of great learning around strength training, loading, movement, and helping people build confidence with exercise — not just for sport, but for everyday life too.

You don’t need to be an athlete to benefit from getting stronger. Sometimes it’s simply about:

• feeling better keeping up with the kids
• having more confidence in the gym
• reducing those little aches and pains
• improving running or gym performance
• staying strong for work and everyday life

Ryan has a strong passion for helping people move better, feel stronger, and return to doing what they love. His areas of interest include:

✔️ Musculoskeletal injuries
✔️ Vestibular rehabilitation for dizziness and balance disorders
✔️ Neurological rehabilitation and mobility retraining
✔️ Persistent pain management and functional restoration
✔️ Sports injury management and return-to-play support

Outside the clinic, Ryan enjoys staying active through gym training, beach swims, and recreational sports including basketball, badminton, and ten-pin bowling. 🏀🏸🎳

Louisa is our musculoskeletal physiotherapist, with a postgraduate qualification and a passion for helping people better understand their pain and get back to the activities that matter to them.

She works with a wide range of conditions — from back and neck pain to running-related injuries — and takes a thorough, structured approach to assessment and care.

Louisa combines education, hands-on treatment and tailored rehab to support long-term progress, whatever your goals may be.

Outside the clinic, you’ll find her swimming, running, cycling or at the gym 🚴‍♀️
