AMWU and ETU members at Downer East Pakenham and Calder Park are taking industrial action as part of their EBA negotiations.

These members maintain Victoria’s HCMT fleet of trains and are seeking parity in wages and conditions with workers who perform the same work at Metro Trains and V/Line Maintenance.

Workers who maintain Victoria’s trains deserve fair and consistent wages and conditions. ✊🏼

Workers at Little Creatures Brewery Win Right to Bargain!

After several years, workers at the Little Creatures Brewery in Geelong have secured the right to bargain for an enterprise agreement with their employer, Lion.

The AMWU successfully argued before the Commission that a majority of workers at the Brewery wanted to bargain for the agreement, securing their right to collective bargaining at the workplace.

Despite their employees signing two separate petitions in support of bargaining, Lion refused to listen to their workers' wishes for a union-backed agreement.

In a 52-page decision handed down on Tuesday, the Commission rejected all of the employer's arguments, which attempted to keep out the AMWU and to frustrate the workers' right to bargain with strong union backing.

The decision confirms the right of workers to join together in union and to determine the pay and conditions under which they will provide their labour.

The AMWU's win is clear proof of this truth — Divided We Beg, United We Bargain.
