Cancer recovery can feel confusing, uncertain and overwhelming — especially when
people are left wondering what is normal, what can improve, and where to get help.
No two recoveries are the same.
Cancer rehabilitation helps people understand what is happening in their body, manage
ongoing side effects, rebuild confidence and take an active role in their recovery.
Because when people understand their recovery, everything changes.
Your recovery deserves support.

Exercise can be powerful medicine after cancer, but people need the right support to
access its benefits.
Only around 1 in 10 people with cancer are reaching the exercise levels shown to
support recovery and long-term health.
Cancer rehabilitation helps people move safely, rebuild strength, manage treatment side
effects and work towards the right dose of movement for their body.
Because advice is not enough.
Support makes all the difference.

Too many people finish cancer treatment and are left thinking fatigue, pain and weakness are
just part of survival.
They’re not.
Cancer rehabilitation can help people rebuild strength, manage symptoms, move with
confidence and return to the things that matter most.
This Cancer Rehab Awareness Week, help us make cancer rehabilitation a standard part of
cancer care.
Your recovery deserves support.

For years, we've accepted one statement as fact:

"A ruptured ACL cannot heal."

But what if that's not entirely true?

Over the past decade, our understanding of ACL injury management has evolved significantly. Emerging research, clinical outcomes and the development of the Cross Bracing Protocol have challenged many of the assumptions that have guided treatment decisions for generations.

New in ACL management! The Cross Bracing Protocol.
ACL injuries were once a surgical story; reconstruction was the only option. In more recent years, exercise-based rehabilitation emerged as a valid alternative. Now, a third option is changing the conversation – the Cross Bracing Protocol (CBP).

For those who are candidates for the CBP, early evidence suggests that 90% of people exhibit ACL healing on MRI at 12 weeks (2), which is exciting!

Our Musculoskeletal Titled Physio Gayle Barry has undergone qualification to guide athletes through the CBP.

Next week our Senior Physio Gayle Barry is heading to Darwin to attend the Knee ACL Cross Bracing Protocol (CBP) physiotherapy training workshop. Since its development this protocol has had excellent results as an alternative to surgery following ACL rupture.

For many years we have proudly supported the ‘in demand’ Nat Dunstan playground adjacent to the Clare Courts complex. The playground was built in legacy for Nat after she passed away from motor neurone disease (MND). While we are not close to a definitive cure for MND, we are closer than ever to treatments that can halt or drastically slow it down.

Our Physios aim to teach you intrinsic control with slow and targeted instruction and movement. Building intrinsic strength is a key foundation to gross motor control - which we all need for work, sport and life!

In our small group Physio-let classes we focus on breathing, core and motor control, posture and spinal articulation. Suitable for all ages and levels of ability.
