What a fantastic day teaching at yesterday at Sydney Boys High School.

It was especially special that Theresa and I were scheduled in the same room, teaching back-to-back and sharing the experience together.

Events like these are always a reminder of how powerful the yoga community can be. There’s something special about stepping into a room full of new faces, sharing the practices and teachings we love, and connecting with people who are genuinely curious, open, and eager to learn.

It was also inspiring to be surrounded by so many incredible facilitators, each bringing their own unique gifts, perspectives, and passion to the day. Opportunities to connect, collaborate, and learn from like minded people are always something we deeply value.

A heartfelt thank you to Yoga Day for creating such a wonderful event and for inviting us to be part of it. We are grateful for the experience and already looking forward to returning next year.

Prenatal yoga is a gentle and supportive practice designed specifically for the changing needs of pregnancy. More than movement alone, it offers a space for mothers to slow down, connect with their bodies, calm the nervous system, and prepare physically, mentally, and emotionally for birth and motherhood.

Classes typically include mindful movement, breath awareness, relaxation, pelvic and postural support, and moments of rest and connection with baby. Each practice is adapted to support the natural changes occurring throughout pregnancy, helping women feel more comfortable, grounded, and supported during this important transition.

Research continues to show that prenatal yoga may help reduce stress, anxiety, tension, aches and pains, and support better sleep, mood, and emotional wellbeing throughout pregnancy and postpartum. It can also encourage strength, mobility, balance, and body awareness in preparation for labour and birth.

Perhaps most importantly, prenatal yoga creates community. It offers a nurturing environment where women can feel held, seen, and supported alongside others walking a similar journey.

Whether you are new to yoga or have practiced for years, prenatal yoga provides an opportunity to pause, breathe, and deeply connect with yourself and your growing miracle 🤍

What an interesting and powerful week it’s been.

Recently, I shared openly about the realities of running a yoga studio in these times, the challenges, the pressure, and feeling the pinch of trying to keep something meaningful alive in a world that’s constantly changing. I put the call out to our students, past students, new students, and even those quietly sitting on the fence, inviting people to come practice with us, to be part of the community, and to invest in themselves.

Because ultimately, that’s what this space is about.

Helping people feel more clear and calm in their mind, more vibrant and alive in their body, and more connected to themselves and others. And I’m sure that’s how many people truly want to feel.

At one point, we were leaning toward downsizing the studio. The reality was that the rent and member numbers simply weren’t matching up, and logically, moving into a smaller space made sense.

But what made this week so interesting was the exact theme we’ve been exploring in our classes: Viveka Shakti, the power of clear seeing.

The ability to step back, see clearly, and understand what is truly required from a higher vantage point rather than reacting from the current challenge or circumstance.

As we taught, practiced, and reflected on this theme throughout the week, I had a deep realisation.

Rather than contract, why not expand?

In the past, Bhav felt quite tight in its structure. The teachings, the classes, and the offerings all revolved around a singular philosophical theme each week. While beautiful and powerful, it also became limiting in who could teach here and what could be shared in the space.

Bhav has always been deeply rooted in authentic Yoga teachings, embodiment, and transformation. But I also understand that everyone is on their own journey, and not everyone connects with the deeper philosophical or more confronting aspects of Traditional Ta**ra Hatha Yoga.

So we’ve decided to release the grip a little.

Bhav is evolving.

Rather than being only about one style or expression, Bhav is becoming more about the space itself, a hub for growth, healing, awareness, wellbeing, and human connection from many different angles and modalities.

We’re now opening the space to aligned facilitators and offerings including:

Chi Gong, Tai Chi, Yoga, Mindful Movement, Somatics, Kids Yoga, Teen Yoga, Ecstatic Dance, Kirtan, Sound Healing, Breathwork, and anything else truly in service of helping people grow, heal, connect, and awaken.

Bhav is becoming a home for conscious community.

A place where different modalities, teachings, and facilitators can come together under one shared intention, elevating wellbeing, awareness, and the human experience.

We’re currently looking for facilitators who align with Bhav’s ethos and meaning:

“The attitude we bring.”

The attitude of healing, growth, authenticity, presence, and genuine care for people.

And to celebrate this next chapter…

It’s our birthday this Saturday, May 23rd!

We’ll be hosting a full day of FREE classes, workshops, and events, awards, along with a special offer for all existing Bhav Members.

It genuinely feels like a new chapter is beginning.

Exciting times ahead 🤍

Most people live trapped in the lower three chakras, ruled by survival, fear, attachment, and the constant need for control. This keeps us reactive, heavy, and disconnected from our deeper potential.

Traditional Hatha Yoga teaches that liberation begins at the navel.

The navel centre, Manipura Chakra, is the seat of Bhuta Agni, the deeper and more powerful inner fire. It digests not only food, but life itself, our emotions, experiences, and karmic patterns. Jathara Agni governs physical digestion, but Bhuta Agni is the fire of deeper transformation. When this fire is weak, there is stagnation. When it is strong, there is clarity, courage, discipline, and real inner change.

Awakened Kundalini at the navel is known as Rudrani, and it is considered the cornerstone of Traditional Hatha Yoga. This is where Prana Vayu and Apana Vayu unite, igniting the inner fire that creates true transformation.

Practices like Uddiyana Bandha and Agnisara are designed to cultivate this fire, strengthen the centre, and awaken the power that already lives within you.

This is not about chasing mystical experiences. It is about becoming stronger, clearer, and more conscious with your own life force.

Not performance. Transformation.
Not escape. Embodiment.

Let the navel be your source of power.
Let the fire rise.
Let Rudrani awaken.

The Mind and Soul

The brain is not the mind; rather, the brain is the physical manifestation of the mind. The soul inhabits the mind, the mind inhabits the spirit, the spirit inhabits the etheric body, and the etheric body inhabits the physical form. The soul and the mind are the two celestial aspects of your being, they are not of this Earth.

The spirit is a non-physical counterpart of the physical body, which you utilise when engaging in astral travel and dreaming. The soul, in essence, is consciousness itself. Everything possesses a soul,, grass, animals, and all living things. The soul is a pure magnetic life force, the energy that animates all that it inhabits.

The body, however, is sustained by the life force of the soul, yet it is composed of atoms that undergo decay. As a result, the body is mortal, subject to the cycle of life and death. The soul, in contrast, is eternal, existing beyond physical limitation and impermanence.

Life is an anagram for file. Your eyes record what you experience, and that recording goes into the subconscious mind, connected to the universal Akashic Records.
