This past weekend, our Katherine and remote teams were out at Barunga Festival, and what a weekend it was. Footy, music, art, camping, and a whole lot of community spirit. 🌳

We had three activities running at our stall: kids spun the Wellbeing Wheel to explore topics like gratitude, mindfulness, and emotional awareness; added their leaf to the Resilient Tree by writing what makes them strong; and practiced Box Breathing to help calm the mind and regulate emotions, even taking home a magnet as a reminder. 🍃

Students from Jilkmingan, Barunga, Mataranka, and Katherine schools joined in, and a few lucky winners walked away with some fishing gear. 🎣

Big thanks to the Barunga Festival organisers for having us. It was a privilege to be part of it.

Coffee… but make it courtside. ☕🏀
Last week, some of our team laced up and took on the Hoops 4 Health AUS 3x3 Corporate Challenge, and safe to say it was an absolute blast. First time on the court for some of us, but that didn't stop us giving it everything!

A huge thank you to Hoops 4 Health for hosting such a fun and energetic event focused on health, wellbeing, and community. This is exactly our kind of day. 💙

This week, two of our Program Managers represented TeamHEALTH at the AADANT Conference 2026 in Darwin.

This year's theme: On Country, In Community: The Way We Work, felt close to home. A timely reminder that at the heart of good support work is the quality of the relationships we build with the people we serve. That's true across everything we do. 💙

Thank you toAssociation of Alcohol and Other Drug Agencies NT for bringing the sector together for two days of meaningful conversation and connection.

Last week, we hosted All In: A Reconciliation Gathering at our Bougainvillea Centre in Nightcliff, and what a day it was. 💙🧡

We were honoured to open with a smoking ceremony facilitated by Uncle Joe Raymond, and a Welcome to Country from Larrakia Elder Mary Williams, both made possible with the generous support of Larrakia Nation.

We were also joined by guest speaker Nicole Brown - Lyons Ward Councillor, whose powerful address reflected on the history and ongoing significance of Reconciliation Week, and honoured the resilience and strength of First Nations people. A truly memorable moment in the day.

It was wonderful to also welcome Ed Smelt for Nightcliff and a range of community stakeholders who came out to show their support.

The day was filled with weaving, didgeridoo making with Dale Austin from
Dingo Cockatoo Aboriginal Culture, painting, a yarning circle, live music, a BBQ, and a stunning spread from Soul Essence on the Bay.

Thank you to everyone who made this day special. Reconciliation isn't a single event but a continuing journey, and days like this remind us why it matters. 🙏

Yesterday, our CEO Dr Rina Bruinsma and Executive Manager Sabeeha Nihad met with The Hon. Steve Edgington MLA, Minister for Health, Mental Health, and Aboriginal Affairs, at Parliament House. 🏛️

A valuable opportunity to discuss the work we do and the issues that matter most to the communities we serve across the Northern Territory. 💙

Earlier this week, we were delighted to welcome The Hon. Jo Hersey MLA, Minister for Children and Families, Prevention of Domestic Violence, and Women, to Ladybird House in Katherine.

Minister Hersey had the opportunity to see firsthand the vital support services we provide to women and families in the region, and we're grateful for her time and interest in the work happening here.

Our Katherine team were out in the community last week!

Bella, Melissa, and Brendan joined the Katherine Community Day, connecting with local service providers, stakeholders, and Joanna Holden, Mayor of Katherine to talk about flood recovery, community resilience, and the ongoing support efforts across the region.

It was a reminder of what Katherine does best: showing up for each other. 💙
