We are delighted to announce that Dr Nashreen (Nash) Omar will be joining The Pines Medical Practice from Monday, 6 July 2026.

Nash is an experienced FRACGP General Practitioner with a diverse medical background spanning Ireland, Singapore and Australia. Her previous experience includes Intensive Care, Emergency Medicine and Psychiatry, providing her with a strong foundation in managing both acute and complex health conditions.

Nash has a special interest in Women's Health, Chronic Disease Management and Mental Health and is passionate about building collaborative, long-term relationships with her patients.

Outside medicine, Nash enjoys the outdoors, staying active and cooking (she once seriously considered culinary school before choosing medicine!).

Please join us in giving Nash a very warm welcome to The Pines Medical Practice. We are excited to have her joining our team and know she will be a wonderful addition to our practice community.

I'm Riding for Men's Health in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride

On Sunday the 17th of May 2026, I'm riding in The Distinguished Gentleman's Ride with fellow men and women across the globe to raise funds and awareness for prostate cancer and men's mental health on behalf of Movember.

Men die on average 6 years earlier than women and for largely preventable reasons. The number of men that are suffering is growing, and we need to do something about that.

So, before I press my tweed and polish my boots, I'm asking you to join me in raising funds and awareness for these causes by donating what you can for this meaningful cause and to help the men we love, live happier and healthier lives.

Today marks 27 years since we first opened our doors — and what an incredible journey it has been.

From our very first patients in 1997 to the thousands of families we care for today, we are truly grateful for the trust, support and loyalty of our wonderful community. 💙

A very special acknowledgment goes to Danielle and Lee, who have been with us since day one and are still part of our team today. Their dedication, kindness and unwavering commitment to our patients have shaped so much of who we are as a practice. We are incredibly lucky to have them. 🙌

Thank you to every doctor, nurse, receptionist and team member who has contributed along the way — and to our patients, who make this practice feel like family.

Our Billing Policy - Ways to Reduce Your Out-of-Pocket Costs
We fully understand the cost pressures facing all of us.

We deeply feel the need to help you look after your health. We will work with you to understand your Medicare entitlements and allow you to receive the maximum available rebate.

There are several Medicare-supported programs that can help lower your overall healthcare costs:
• Chronic Condition Management (Care Plans): If you have a long-term condition, you may be eligible for regular GP management and team care plans, which are bulk-billed and can enable access to subsidised allied health visits.
• Health Assessments: Annual health checks for those aged 45–49, 75+, and other eligible groups are fully covered by Medicare.
• Medicare Safety Net: Once your out-of-pocket costs reach a certain threshold in a calendar year, Medicare increases your rebate for the rest of the year — reducing your gap fees.
