Residents recently gathered in the garden BBQ area Resthaven Mitcham for an afternoon of German celebrations, enjoying traditional music performed by Hahndorf Music's Heidi and Herman (Über Oompah).

The BBQ sausages served with sauerkraut and mustard were a favourite, and the apple strudel was perfect to finish off the afternoon.

We're wishing a happy birthday to Resthaven Craigmore resident Mrs Margaret Dolphin, who turns 102 today! 🎉

A self-described ‘Yorkshire lass’ with ‘travelling feet’, Margaret has certainly lived an interesting life. She served in the Women's Royal Naval Service during World War II before eventually making Australia her home in 1977.

During the Week of Ageing Well (1–7 October), Resthaven 'Glynde Lodge' Retirement Living residents tried this unusual art technique in a workshop run by Katy J Designs.

Congratulations to Resthaven Murray Bridge volunteer Dawn Weyland, who received her Ageing Australia ‘You Are ACE!’ National Volunteer Award recently! 🎉❤️

Dawn was celebrated at the site with a special afternoon tea alongside family, friends, residents and staff, recognising her incredible 50+ years of service to the home, first as an employee and now as a volunteer.

What a wonderful achievement, Dawn! Thank you for your care and commitment to the Resthaven Murray Bridge community.

Happy birthday to Resthaven Paradise resident Mr Leslie (Les) Motley, who turned 99 on 15 October! 🎉

Les can often be found at the pool table, where he regularly enjoys a game with Resthaven volunteer, Bridget (pictured). With more than 80 years of experience playing pool, he's not an easy opponent to beat!

Inspired by the Mount Gambier Show happening this weekend, Resthaven Mount Gambier held two days of Show Day fun! 🎪

The hall was decorated with colourful displays to bring a bit of the local show atmosphere to the home.

Residents met some furry and feathered friends from Australian Bush Buddies, learnt about the history of the Show with Kerry from the local library, and enjoyed live music.
