๐ŸŽ‰ Exciting news from AccessPlus Solutions! ๐ŸŽ‰
Today marks another big step on our journey towards becoming a Registered NDIS Provider! We are so excited to be moving closer to this milestone.
As our registration audit has now been rescheduled to October 2026, we are sending out our Opt In / Opt Out requests again.
We are looking for a few wonderful participants who would be willing to be involved in our audit process. If you choose to participate, the auditor may ask you a few simple questions about your experience with AccessPlus Solutions, and we may also be required to show your participant profile and associated documentation.
Please be assured that all information will remain completely confidential and will only be viewed by the independent auditor as part of the registration process.
If you would be happy to help us achieve this exciting milestone, we would be so grateful.
๐Ÿ“ง Please email [email protected] if you would like to take part.
Thank you for your ongoing support, we couldnโ€™t do this without our amazing participants and families! ๐Ÿ’™

My late night thoughts ๐Ÿค”.

The NDIS is so much more than funding, it is an investment in people, communities, and Australiaโ€™s future.

It provides people with disability access to therapies, support workers, and services that help them build independence, achieve their goals, and participate more fully in everyday life.

At the same time, the NDIS creates employment opportunities for thousands of Australians, including support workers, therapists, allied health professionals, and administrative staff. These workers are paid through NDIS funding, they pay taxes, and those taxes are reinvested back into our economy and public services. Itโ€™s a cycle that benefits everyone.

Has the NDIS got room for improvement? Absolutely. Like any large system, it needs ongoing refinement to ensure funding is used wisely and participants receive the support they need.

But we should never lose sight of what the NDIS has achieved. It has transformed lives, created meaningful employment, strengthened communities, and given so many people opportunities they never had before.

Letโ€™s continue improving it, not losing what makes it so valuable.

Hands, Heart & Haven
Where Creativity Builds Confidence.

Creativity has a wonderful way of bringing people together. It encourages confidence, self-expression, problem-solving and connection, often in ways that words cannot.

Hands, Heart & Haven is a welcoming creative arts and crafts program for adults who want to learn new skills, discover new hobbies and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment.

Whether you've always wanted to learn macramรฉ, try your hand at painting, create beautiful succulent displays, master crochet, explore resin art or simply enjoy creating alongside others, this program has something for everyone. No previous experience is necessary- just a willingness to have a go.

More than just an arts and crafts group, this is a capacity-building program designed to support independence, social participation, confidence and wellbeing. Every project provides opportunities to strengthen practical skills, improve fine motor coordination, develop problem-solving abilities and experience the satisfaction of creating something you're proud to take home.

Expressions of Interest Now Open

We're currently inviting adults to register their Expression of Interest (EOI) while we finalise our first groups.

When you complete your EOI, you'll have the opportunity to tell us which creative activities you'd most like to explore. Your feedback will help shape the program, ensuring we provide the creative mediums, facilitators and supports that best meet the interests of those attending.

Groups will commence once minimum participant numbers have been reached (minimum of 6 participants per group).

If you're looking for a welcoming place to learn, create, connect and build confidence, we'd love to hear from you.

Register your Expression of Interest today and help us create something truly inspiring.

Culture is not something we work around. It is something we work with.

When we talk about Positive Behaviour Support (PBS), we often talk about understanding the person behind the behaviour.

For Aboriginal people, that understanding must also include culture, history, family, community, and the ongoing impacts of intergenerational trauma.

Intergenerational trauma refers to the effects of traumatic events that continue to impact future generations. For many Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, this includes the legacy of colonisation, forced removal from Country, the Stolen Generations, loss of language and culture, discrimination, systemic disadvantage, and the disruption of family and community connections.

These experiences do not simply disappear over time.

They can influence how people experience safety, trust, relationships, identity, stress, and connection to services.

Sometimes what we see as behaviour may be influenced by experiences that began long before the individual was born.

This is why culturally responsive Positive Behaviour Support is so important.

At Haven Therapeutic Services, we believe behaviour support should never exist in isolation from a person's culture or lived experience.

We take the time to understand what is important to the individual, their family, and their community.

We actively encourage cultural participation, connection to Country, family, Elders, language, and community wherever these are important to the participant.

We recognise that healing and wellbeing are strengthened when people are supported to remain connected to their identity and culture.

Positive Behaviour Support is not about asking people to fit into a system.

It is about creating supports that are respectful, collaborative, culturally safe, and built around the person's own strengths, values, and goals.

Because meaningful support begins with understanding.

And understanding begins with listening.

We acknowledge the strength, resilience, and wisdom of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

We are committed to providing behaviour support that is culturally responsive, trauma-informed, and person-centred.
