The child who never causes trouble.
The child who always says "I am fine".
The child who gets good grades, follows the rules, helps others, and never asks for much.
Everyone praises them.
But sometimes, that "perfect" child is carrying anxiety, sadness, loneliness, fear, pressure, or emotional pain that nobody sees.
Because they have learned that being easy, quiet, successful, or helpful is the safest way to be noticed, loved, or accepted.
Not every struggling child acts out.
Some children suffer in silence.
They smile when they are hurting.
They achieve when they are exhausted.
They comfort others while nobody asks how they are coping.
The children we worry about are not always the children who need help the most.
Sometimes the child who seems to have everything together is the one who needs someone to stop and ask:
"How are you really doing?"
