✨ Meet Emma! ✨

You may have noticed a new face around our Gunnedah practice, so we thought it was time to introduce Emma!

Born and bred in Gunnedah, Emma is a proud local with plenty of country experience under her belt. She’s spent two harvest seasons as a chaser bin driver, operating big articulated tractors across the paddocks (and loved every minute of it!).

She also spent two years living in Brisbane, where she studied photography and developed her creative eye.

Fun fact: Emma can solve a Rubik’s Cube in just 1 minute and 47 seconds, a talent she recently timed herself on and was pretty impressed by!

When she’s not at work, you’ll find her creating her own cross-stitch and embroidery designs. She loves the creativity and craftsmanship that comes with bringing her ideas to life.

📢 Closing Early Today for Staff Training 📢

Our team is heading to Tamworth this afternoon for staff training, so our practices will be closing a little earlier than usual today.

🕒 Moree – 2:00pm
🕒 Narrabri – 3:00pm
🕒 Gunnedah – 4:00pm

We’ll be back to our normal trading hours on Monday from 9:00am.

Lauren recently had the incredible opportunity to travel to Monaco, courtesy of , alongside 24 other optometrists selected from across Australia and New Zealand 🌍✈️

While there, she attended an international conference covering the latest advancements in eye care; dry eye treatment, myopia control, macular degeneration research, and emerging eyewear technology.

Highlights included updated research on IPL for dry eye, new designs of Stellest lenses proven to slow short-sightedness progression in children, Nuance Audio hearing-aid glasses, and AI smart glasses like and . Lauren also had the chance to preview new collections from and .

For Lauren, the most rewarding part wasn’t the technology itself, it was knowing it wouldn’t stay in major cities.
“So often, new technologies are concentrated in metropolitan areas. It’s exciting to know our towns and local practices can also be among the first to bring these advancements back to Australia.”

Of course, it wasn’t all work. 🍸✨ There was plenty of “networking”, which looked suspiciously like a good time with colleagues, along with catching up with old friends and making new ones. A rare chance to step away from the juggle of work, farm life, and the kids for a few days.

True to form, the flight time didn’t go to waste, with Lauren completing 20 hours of continuing education on the plane. One day she might even learn how to relax and enjoy a flight 😅

It was a big week, a quick turnaround, and Lauren was back consulting in Gunnedah and Moree the following week. Some things never change.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​..

To everyone who donated, attended, bought raffle tickets, supplied prizes, baked, shared our posts or simply stopped by for a tea or coffee. THANK YOU.

The support from our communities in Gunnedah, Narrabri & Moree absolutely blew us away. Seeing everyone come together for such an important cause made the day incredibly special.

A massive shoutout to our local businesses and suppliers who generously donated raffle prizes and helped us make this event bigger and better than we ever imagined🫶🏼
