If this touches you, comment with the number you relate to, I really want to know.

We move through phases in our capacity to love and relate with our partner and ourselves.

We’re moving through these in Soul Speak in a couple of weeks. Starting August 10th, come join if you’re someone who goes from good to great and wants this for your relationship too.

You've been asking your partner to be more honest with you.

And then they are.

They tell you something true. Something vulnerable. And your body moves faster than your thinking brain.

Your chest tightens. Heat rises. You want to bite back, defend yourself, or leave the room. Or you freeze completely, still sitting there but gone.

You thought you were ready to hear it. Your nervous system had other plans.

Here's what changes it.

The moment you notice the ouch, the tightness in your chest, the urge to snap back or shut down, you pause.

"I need a moment please."

Then you place your hand where the ouch lives in your body. Feel the weight and temperature of your hand. How far inward can you feel it?

This is a self-hug. You're meeting yourself in the ouch instead of reacting from it.

From here, you might ask for more space. Or you might share what you're noticing underneath your hand. Like a weather report. No retaliation. No expectation they fix it.

"I'm noticing tightness in my chest. I want to stay, I just need a moment."

This is the other half of honest intimacy. Not just speaking without creating ruptures. But receiving honesty without your biology hijacking you into defence.

If you're ready to learn both sides, comment SOUL SPEAK and I'll send you the link.

Comment Honesty or DM that word and I’ll reply.

Honest expression, whether is so precious in what it can bring to the quality of closeness we can have.

Sometimes it’s easier to reach across with a hand than it is to say something or it can help to actually touch with a hand on a knee or a shoulder whilst you’re speaking to help both of you stay in the moment and feel more safe.

Feeling safe enough within yourself is the foundation for honest expression, and intimacy together that is genuine and enlivening.

Go gently and honestly would be my suggestion.

Relationships and people are endlessly precious to me. Even when I’m challenged or stretched I’m in there, sleeves rolled up, learning and researching the heck out of things - and weirdly loving that too! Ask my gorgeous bright peers/ colleagues 😅😅🩷🩷🩷 Surprise segue at the end!

Imagine being 82 and freshly in-love. Feeling more loved and loving than ever in your romantic relationships!

Here’s the insightful question Faith had. We worked together over the years and I was so happy to share how I see it. My view is changed by my own journey and also. when I was dating in my 50’s ♥️♥️♥️♥️

The difference between light and alive and heavy 🌟

Has your sense of safety wobbled and you found yourself holding back, not wanting to rock the boat? Trying to avoid what you don’t like feeling? Sometimes we’re actually super annoyed and want to avoid bringing that and having conflict.

whilst I’m not recommending having arguments, I do know that we can find ourselves stuck in our nervous system, fearfulness or frustration and that makes it difficult to know what it is that we really want.

What happens for you if you consciously stop and inquiring into that for yourself and perhaps have a conversation about what it is that you want rather than just what you don’t want?

Connection lives in both friction moments as well as indulging tender moments. ♥️🩷

♥️ ever been in a bit of a beige situation in your relationship? Too much distance, too much draining boring bs arguments that aren’t about anything important. Wishing for mire peaceful close loving times.

Yet somehow those ‘discussions’ feel super important. You just don’t know how to untangle them and why they keep happening?

You can slide into Back To Love $97, and a couple of hours by yourself or together. Could be just the gentle step you need ♥️♥️
