Today marks World Patient Safety Day, a day that calls for global solidarity and action to improve patient safety across every level of healthcare.

It brings together patients, families, caregivers, health workers and policy makers, all united by one shared commitment: safer care for everyone.

At our practice, patient safety isn't just a policy, it's woven into everything we do. From thorough clinical processes and ongoing staff training, to open communication and a culture where every team member feels empowered to speak up, we take this responsibility seriously every single day.

Because behind every safe outcome is a team committed to getting the details right, every time.

General practice looks different depending on where you train - and one of our medical students, visiting from Keele University in the UK, has spent time with our team seeing exactly how.

She shares her perspective on continuity of care, and what stands out to her about the doctor-patient relationships she's observed during her placement with us.

As a teaching practice, supporting the next generation of GPs is something we take real pride in. Hosting international students like her means fresh perspectives for our team, and invaluable experience for them.

Here's to shaping the GPs of tomorrow, one placement at a time.

Sometimes the best celebrations happen over good food and great company.

Our team got together for dinner at The Hills Mediterranean to celebrate our recent award wins and to simply enjoy each other's company outside the practice.

None of it happens without the dedication and hard work our team brings every single day, so it felt only right to mark the occasion together.

Here's to the people who make our practice what it is. šŸ„‚

Turning 40 is a milestone worth celebrating, and a good reminder to check in on your health too.

Dr Victoria Wilkinson breaks down the key health checks worth having on your radar as you move into this decade and beyond, some obvious, some you might not expect.

Everyone's needs are a little different, depending on family history, lifestyle and existing conditions, which is exactly why a chat with your GP is the best place to start.

Not sure what you're due for? Book a check-up with one of our GPs, link in bio.

For Women's Health Week, let's talk about the everyday habits that quietly shape how we feel.

Swipe through as we cover five areas worth prioritising: nutrition, movement, sleep, mental health and social connection.

Good nutrition isn't about restriction, it's about consistency and fuelling your body with what it actually needs.

Movement doesn't have to mean the gym either, enjoyable activity is far more sustainable long term.

Sleep and rest are often the first things sacrificed in a busy life, yet they matter enormously.

Mental and emotional wellbeing deserves the same care as physical health, and social connection can be just as protective for our health as any physical habit.

None of this needs to be perfect, just consistent.

Your GP can help you build a plan that fits your life. Pop into our practice this week to grab some free resources on everything from healthy eating to breast screening and pelvic pain support.

It's Women's Health Week, and this week we're focusing on the conversations that matter, but don't always get enough airtime.

Swipe through as we cover four areas that affect so many women, yet are often misunderstood, dismissed or left unaddressed for far too long.

Endometriosis, menopause, breast health and weight each come with their own complexities, and each deserves proper attention, not a one size fits all approach.

If any of this feels familiar, know that support and answers are available. Our Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain Clinic offers dedicated, multidisciplinary care, and our GPs are here to talk through any of these topics with you.

Planning a trip somewhere high - think Everest Base Camp, Machu Picchu, or even a ski trip above 2,500m? Altitude affects your body more than most people realise.

Altitude sickness can hit anyone, regardless of fitness level, and in more serious cases can become dangerous quickly.

Dr Charbel Badr explains why a pre-travel chat with your GP matters - from understanding your personal risk factors to preparation options available before you go.

The right advice beforehand can be the difference between a good trip and a great one.

It's been a big year for our practice. We've expanded our services, supported Dr Rao through her ovarian cancer diagnosis, farewelled Cheryl after her well-earned retirement, and most recently celebrated some exciting award wins.

Through it all, none of it would be possible without the patients who trust us with their care.

If you've had a great experience with us, a quick Google review helps other people in the community find quality care, and it means the world to our team to hear your feedback.

It takes less than a minute - just click the link below, or search Hunters Hill Medical Practice on Google and leave us a review there.

Can your GP really treat skin cancer - or does it always mean a referral elsewhere?

Australia is the skin cancer capital of the world - by 70, two in three of us will be diagnosed with some form of it. With numbers like that, knowing exactly what your GP can do matters.

In this reel, we break down what's possible in-practice - from detection and identification through to treatment and removal. For many people, their GP is the first, and often the only, doctor they need to see.

Watch to find out what your GP can actually manage, and when a referral to a specialist might be needed.

Noticed a new or changing spot, mole or freckle? Don't wait - book a skin check with one of our GPs.
