You may be eligible for free winter vaccines to help protect against flu, COVID 19 and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV):
✅ Flu vaccine – free for people 65 years and over
✅ COVID 19 vaccine – free for everyone, no Medicare card needed
✅ RSV vaccine – free for:
🔹people 75 years and over.
🔹Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people aged 60 and over.

Influenza (flu) is serious, but isn’t as scary if you’re vaccinated. A flu vaccine offers you and your child the best protection from serious illness.

The yearly flu vaccine is free for children aged 6 months to under 5 years, Aboriginal children aged 6 months and over, and children with serious health conditions. It is recommended for everyone aged 6 months and over.

If your child is 2, 3 or 4 years old, they can get a free nasal spray flu vaccine in NSW. It is gentle, painless, and needle-free.

Did you know fewer NSW adults are getting sunburnt?

That’s the latest from the Cancer Institute NSW Sun Protection Behaviours Report.

Whilst this is promising, that’s still 700,000 people across the state who were recently sunburnt.

2 in 5 adults also reported being frequently exposed to the sun from 11am-3pm – when UV levels are highest.

The good news is, you can protect yourself from harmful UV radiation with proper sun protection:

👕Slip on protective clothing
🧴Slop on SPF50+ sunscreen 20 minutes before heading outdoors and re-apply every 2 hours
👒Slap on a wide brimmed hat
🌳Seek shade
😎Slide on sunglasses
