Schizophrenia is a mental health condition that is often misunderstood, which can contribute to stigma and delay people accessing support.

It is characterised by disruptions in perception, thinking, mood, and behaviour, and can vary significantly in how it presents from person to person.

In Australia, schizophrenia affects approximately 1% of the population over a lifetime, making it less common than many anxiety and mood disorders, but associated with significant functional impact when unsupported.

World Schizophrenia Awareness Day is an opportunity to challenge myths, reduce stigma, and promote understanding, making it easier for people to seek support. ❤️

Wondering what an autism assessment actually involves? 🤔

For many people, the idea of an autism assessment can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re not sure what to expect or where to start.

We’ve created a simple guide that walks through:
🌟 Why people seek an assessment (for children, teens, and adults).
🌟 Common signs that may suggest the presence of autism.
🌟 What actually happens during the assessment process.
🌟 How understanding yourself or your child can be helpful moving forward.

Autism is a spectrum, and every person’s experience is unique. An assessment isn’t about putting someone in a box or giving them a label, but about better understanding how they think, learn, communicate, and experience the world. This understanding can unlock their potential and help them shine. ❤️

Learning challenges in children and adolescents aren’t always easy to spot. In fact, they’re often first noticed as:

🧠 Reduced engagement or avoidance.
🧠 Inconsistent academic performance.
🧠 Difficulties with attention, organisation, or following instructions.
🧠 Declining confidence or increased emotional distress.

And sometimes, kids who seem “fine” are really working twice as hard just to keep up.

When you understand how your child learns, everything starts to make more sense both for them and for you.

The right support can make a real difference. Learn more about our psychoeducational assessments at solasta.net.au/educational-assessments-adelaide.
