YOUR BODY ISN’T “FULL OF TOXINS.” 🤍

You’ll often hear wellness treatments described as “flushing toxins” from the body, but that isn’t really how your body works.

Your liver, kidneys, lungs and digestive system are constantly processing and removing waste products. Your lymphatic system has its own important jobs too, including helping maintain fluid balance, transporting immune cells and returning excess tissue fluid back into circulation.

That’s why at Body Renew, we prefer to talk about what treatments may actually support:
✨ Healthy lymphatic flow
✨ Fluid movement
✨ Circulation
✨ Relaxation
✨ Recovery and overall wellbeing

No fear-based language. No promises that your body needs to be “cleansed.”
Just a better understanding of how your body already works - and treatments designed to support it. 🌿
Because wellness shouldn’t make you feel like something is wrong with your body. It should help you understand and care for it.

A gentle reset for your body. 🤍

Lymphatic drainage uses light, rhythmic movements designed to support the natural movement of lymph through the body.

Unlike deep-tissue massage, the pressure is intentionally gentle because many lymphatic vessels sit close to the surface of the skin.

Your lymphatic system plays an important role in:
✨ Maintaining fluid balance
✨ Supporting immune function
✨ Transporting lymph through the body
✨ Returning excess tissue fluid back into circulation

Movement, muscle contractions and the lymphatic vessels’ own natural contractions all help keep lymph moving and manual lymphatic drainage can be another form of support when appropriate.
Sometimes the reset you need doesn’t have to be intense.

Slow down. Breathe. Let your body soften. 🌿

What you do between your sessions matters too. 🤍

Supporting your lymphatic health doesn’t need to mean complicated routines, expensive products or doing everything perfectly.

Often, it comes back to the basics:
✨ Moving your body regularly
✨ Breaking up long periods of sitting
✨ Letting your muscles do some work
✨ Stretching and moving your joints
✨ Slowing down your breathing
✨ Staying hydrated
✨ Finding movement you actually enjoy

Walking, swimming, cycling, gardening, using a rebounder, pedalling under your desk or simply doing a few calf raises all count.

The goal isn’t to turn your day into one giant wellness routine.
It’s simply to spend a little less time completely still and give your body regular opportunities to move.

Your Body Renew sessions can absolutely be part of supporting your wellbeing - but the little things you do every day matter too.

Save this post for the days you need a reminder that looking after yourself doesn’t have to be complicated. 🌿

DID YOU KNOW?

Lymph fluid eventually returns to your bloodstream. 🤍
Your lymphatic system works like a collection and transport network throughout the body.

Fluid that leaves your blood vessels and moves into surrounding tissues is collected by tiny lymphatic vessels. From there, it travels through progressively larger vessels and passes through lymph nodes along the way.

Eventually, that lymph is returned to the bloodstream through two major lymphatic ducts near the base of the neck.

This constant cycle helps your body:
✨ Maintain normal fluid balance
✨ Transport immune cells
✨ Filter lymph through lymph nodes
✨ Return excess tissue fluid back into circulation

It’s one of the reasons your lymphatic and circulatory systems are so closely connected, they’re constantly working together behind the scenes.

Your body is moving fluid all day, every day, even when you don’t feel it happening. 🌿

Your lymphatic treatment starts before we even enter the room..

When you arrive at BR, we want there to be a little transition between ‘everything happening outside our doors’ and the treatment you're about to receive.

So we make you tea.

Not because we're claiming tea “detoxes your lymphatic system” or magically activates your vagus nerve.

We just really believe in the value of creating the right environment for your body to slow down.

Your parasympathetic nervous system is the branch of your autonomic nervous system involved in rest and recovery.

And interestingly, research has shown that even the sensory experience surrounding tea; its aroma, flavour and visual experience, can influence psychological relaxation and measures of parasympathetic activity.

Then you move into a treatment built around gentle, slow, rhythmic touch.

And yes… the tea counts towards your fluid intake too. 💧

So when you come in,

Put your phone down.

Have your tea.

And let us take it from there. 🤎

What happens after a Brazilian Lymphatic Massage? ✨

While every body responds differently, here are a few things you may notice after your treatment…

✨ Feeling less puffy & bloated
Brazilian lymphatic techniques encourage the movement of excess fluid, helping you feel lighter and less congested.

✨ A more sculpted appearance
You may notice more visible definition through areas such as the waist and abdomen following your treatment.

✨ More trips to the bathroom
As your body processes excess fluid, increased urination after your massage can be completely normal.

And remember hydration and gentle movement are your best friends after your treatment. 🤍
