During a Sunday service at OLHC Catholic Church Epping, a 70-year-old parishioner went into cardiac arrest.

What happened next is a reminder of why preparedness saves lives.

While one parishioner began CPR immediately, another ran to the foyer, retrieved the FRED PA-1 defibrillator, and delivered the shock needed to revive him.

The hospital later confirmed he suffered no oxygen deficit to the brain - because CPR started without hesitation.

Doctors also retrieved the device's incident report from the initial minutes, which directly assisted with his diagnosis and treatment.

He is expected to make a full recovery. 🙏

This is what a community prepared for an emergency looks like. Every second counts. Every device matters. Every person in that room who knew what to do made the difference.
