📢 Let Your Voice Shape Better Home Aged Care
Last week, we held our 2026 very first Active Community Group Consumer Advisory Board (CAB) meeting.
It wasn't just a meeting, it was a time to sit down and truly listen to you.
Under the new Support at Home program, home aged care is no longer just about "receiving services" , it's about being heard.
The people who know best whether a service is working well are not managers or policymakers, it's you and your family, using the services every day.
What is the Consumer Advisory Board (CAB)?
It's a platform for older adults and their families to co-design better services —
✅ Share real experiences
✅ Discuss service details (staff reliability, communication, holiday arrangements)
✅ Make concrete suggestions (video check‑ins, advance notice of staff changes)
✅ Help test and improve services
CAB is not a complaint session, it's a starting point for action.
Individual complaints have their own dedicated channels. Here, we focus on one thing:
👉 How to make our services truly meet your needs.
During last week's gathering, we received valuable feedback
from the timeliness of care worker visits, to how we can make new clients feel more welcome in their first week.
These suggestions will be gradually built into our improvement plans.
As a CAB member, you can:
🔹 Directly influence service direction
🔹 Join yearly gatherings (refreshments provided, in‑person or online)
🔹 Get early access to new services and policy updates
Home aged care shouldn't be decided by the provider alone.
Your voice is where change begins.
