Meaningful relationships create meaningful change.

At Sheltering Arms, we believe support is more than showing up for a shift. It’s about showing up for people.

It’s the conversations, the laughter, the outings, the small wins and the trust built along the way.

We don’t just support people to achieve their goals. We learn together, celebrate progress and create opportunities for greater independence.

Because sometimes the biggest changes begin with something as simple as feeling seen, heard and valued.

Real People. Real Support. Real Growth.

At Sheltering Arms, people come first, relationships matter and every achievement counts.

Your Goal is Our Goal.

🧑 Community Nursing | Gold Coast & Brisbane

Quality nursing care doesn’t always need to happen in a hospital or clinic. Sometimes, the best care happens right where you feel most comfortable β€” at home and in your community.

At Sheltering Arms, our Community Nursing services are focused on supporting your health while helping you maintain your independence, dignity and everyday routine.

Our nursing team can assist with wound care, medication support, health monitoring, chronic condition management and other nursing needs, with care tailored around the individual.

We have experienced Registered Nurses and Enrolled Nurses available across the Gold Coast and Brisbane, working alongside participants, families and other supports to provide coordinated, person-centred care.

Because good care isn’t just about completing a task.
It’s about knowing the person you’re supporting. 🧑

SUPPORT THAT GOES BEYOND GETTING THROUGH THE DAY

Living with psychosocial disability can affect routines, relationships, confidence, independence and connection with the community.

At Sheltering Arms, we support adults aged 18–65 to work towards greater stability in everyday life.

Our approach is about understanding the person first β€” their strengths, preferences, routines and what they want their life to look like.

Whether someone is rebuilding after a difficult period, adjusting to a change in circumstances or needing more consistent support at home, we're here to have the conversation.

Looking for psychosocial support that focuses on the person, not just the service?

Let's talk.

WHEN THE REFERRAL ISN'T STRAIGHTFORWARD, LET'S TALK.

Not every person's support needs fit neatly into a box.

Sometimes there has been provider breakdown.

Sometimes someone is struggling to maintain their current living arrangement.

Sometimes mental health, neurodivergence and other support needs overlap.

And sometimes families and professionals simply need a provider willing to understand the full picture before saying yes.

Sheltering Arms welcomes conversations about adults aged 18–65 who require more considered, individualised community support.

We won't promise to be the right provider for everyone.

But we're willing to listen, understand the situation and determine whether we're the right fit.

For participants, families, Support Coordinators and referring professionals, our team welcomes your enquiry.

SUPPORT SHOULDN'T REQUIRE YOU TO BECOME SOMEONE ELSE.

Every neurodivergent person experiences the world differently.

Communication, sensory needs, routines, social environments and changes in everyday life can all influence what good support looks like.

That's why we don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach.

Sheltering Arms supports neurodivergent adults aged 18–65 with support shaped around the individual β€” their communication, preferences, strengths, goals and everyday life.

The person shouldn't have to fit the service.

The support should fit the person.

Some referrals aren't straightforward.

A participant may have experienced multiple provider changes.

Their current support arrangement may be breaking down.

They may be transitioning from hospital.

Their family may be struggling to maintain the current situation.

Or their needs simply don't fit neatly into a standard service model.

These are the conversations we're interested in having.

Sheltering Arms is building its focus around adults aged 18–65 with psychosocial disability, neurodivergence, mental-health-related support needs and more complex community support needs.

For Support Coordinators, hospital teams and other professionals:

If you have a referral that requires a little more thought, talk to us.

We would rather understand the person's situation first and determine whether we're genuinely the right fit.

READY FOR DISCHARGE. BUT WHAT HAPPENS NEXT?

Leaving hospital can be a positive milestone, but for someone with psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or more complex support needs, returning to community living may require careful planning and consistent support.

The real goal isn't simply getting someone through the hospital doors.

It's helping them stay successfully in the community afterwards.

Sheltering Arms can work alongside participants, families, Support Coordinators and other professionals to help establish practical supports around everyday community living.

If you're planning a transition and looking for the right support, we'd like to hear about the person's needs and see whether we're the right fit.

**Getting home is one milestone. Staying successfully at home is another.**

Leaving hospital, supported accommodation or another care environment can be a major transition.

But what happens after the move?

For adults with psychosocial disability, neurodivergence or more complex support needs, the first weeks and months in the community can be particularly important.

Consistent support, routines, community connection and the right team can help create stability beyond the transition.

At Sheltering Arms, that's where we want our support to make a difference.

**Not simply helping someone get home β€” helping community living work.**
