A 4-unit Micro Nexus Bar with metal crowns we produced for a patient in Queensland.

A tricky case with very low occlusal clearance required a combined bar and crown design to create the necessary restorative space, with buccal margins kept below tissue level for the planned zirconia overlay.

Cases like this reflect Osteon's approach to solving complex restorative challenges with practical designs tailored to real-world limitations.

Here we have an example of poor scan data, resulting in poor prosthetic fit. Osteon analyses and evaluates Scan Bodies, Intraoral Scanners and Photogrammetry systems to ensure our prosthetic frameworks fit the way they are supposed to.

We perform Sheffield tests regularly to evaluate the passive fit of milled bars.

The procedure involves placing the bar over the implants and securing a single screw into one implant site. While the screw is inserted and tightened, we observe the remaining implants to detect any liftoff at the opposite end. A dial indicator is then used to accurately measure the precise extent of any gap that occurs.

For instance, an observed liftoff of 100 microns represents a significant discrepancy, confirming that the prosthesis does not seat perfectly against the implant architecture.
